@Jerald - yeah.. but i think the pressure that Vexing Devil creates when i cast it on my 1st turn, helps my cause in killing the opponent early.. some of my friends actually suggested to remove it as well.. but i think is doesn't go against a fast deck.. but thanks for the input!

Slagstorm or Pyroclasm should replace Beast Within in the main deck, since mass removal is missing from your deck.. that can be your downfall, especially of the popularity of token deck nowadays in standard format.
July 29, 2012 1:47 a.m.
@MaxFrye - hmm.. good point.. but from Pyroclasm , Slagstorm and Volcanic Fallout , what is a better mass removal card? is there a green mass removal? thanks by the way..

Gruul Turf , Stomping Ground , Fire-Lit Thicket and Skarrg, the Rage Pits are good lands for gruul decks, plus Ball Lightning , Groundbreaker and card:Hell's Thunder are good replacement creatures for Vexing Devil , if your looking at creatures with haste
July 29, 2012 2:03 a.m.
@Sistajas - Gruul Turf and Skarrg, the Rage Pits are too slow for me.. since every turn i want to maximize every turn.. Stomping Ground is quite expensive for me, but Fire-Lit Thicket is good.. going to save enough money for that.. Ball Lightning and Groundbreaker , is quite useless especially when there are tough creatures in the middle of the game.. card:Hell's Thunder is much better than the other two, but the unearth casting cost is quite heavy for a fast pace deck like this, i may test it t be sure.. thanks for the input!
July 29, 2012 8:33 a.m.
@ErickLim - i have considered it once before.. my problem is, it is slow, unlike Vengevine where i can pressure the opponent as soon as it comes into the battlefield.. plus huntmaster can be Shock ed, Pillar of Flame d, or Pyroclasm ed as soon as it enters the battlefield.. but thanks for the input..
August 1, 2012 4:45 a.m.
@pheonix_222 - yeah.. it's very expensive though.. i have no funds for it.. lol..

I wouldn't worry about Fire-Lit Thicket , It's not great for decks with lots of 1 mana spells like this one.
Karplusan Forest is a bit better in that it can tap for whichever color you need if you need it to, but at a cost of 1 life. It's up to you which you prefer though.
August 25, 2012 12:38 a.m.
@pheonix_222 - looks like your right.. good thing i haven't bought a set of Fire-Lit Thicket .. haha! but I'm going to test Karplusan Forest first, because against other burn or affinity decks, that 1 life can be crucial.. but thanks for the input..

Kitchen Finks ? generic? Sure.. Good? You bet...
I would consider some red miracle effect spells. After all, only Bloodbraid Elf has cascade.
For a run-of-the-mill jund deck, this features very few lands and very few man lands..
Also why no Blightning ?
September 5, 2012 5:56 a.m.
@mattil - uhmm.. actually, this is a Gruul deck as the description says.. I don't plan on making this a Jund by any means.. that is why there is no Blightning .. The man lands are enough, 2 tapped lands that can be a 3/3 trample ape for 1G, is better than Raging Ravine since this is a fast deck, having to kill on 3 to 6 turns..
Kitchen Finks is good sideboard card.. but with most burn decks that I have faced, I often out-burn them.. and I just don't know where to put it in my sideboard..
maybe Bonfire of the Damned is good, but I want to really play test it first, before buying.. since it is quite expensive..

@Sidneyious - actually, ErickLim already suggested Huntmaster of the Fells Flip .. the thing that I want with him is that when he comes into the field, opponent has two separate creatures to worry about, unlike Vengevine .. but I feel that vengevine is a better pick among the two.. Maybe I could add a few..
Branching Bolt could be a sideboard to replace Incinerate .. but is Pyroclasm a better mass removal? Arc Trail is a different type of branching bolt.. which i think is better, because it can blast the opponent directly.. thanks for the suggestions btw..
September 8, 2012 10:52 a.m.
@m12fox - i'll test if it could work, maybe i could add one or two.. thanks!
September 9, 2012 9:55 p.m.
Why not add a couple of Banefire s? for late game finishes?
September 11, 2012 2:41 a.m.
@SethArg - hmm.. good idea! plus it can't be countered.. i'll test it to be sure.. thanks!

If they are sanctioned, then you shouldn't be allowed to play Bloodbraid Elf at all. It is to stop decks going 2 for 1 and swamping out control deck.
Anyway, Experiment One , Kird Ape and Burning-Tree Emissary ?

Yea I think you're mistaken, Since its banning Bloodbraid Elf is no longer legal in the Modern format, no matter which deck you want to play it in.
You might have misunderstood Wizard's reasoning for the banning as permission to use it in Non-Jund decks.
They said: "We wanted a card that top players consistently played four copies of in Jund, but ideally was less played in other top Modern decks."
So Bloodbraid Elf was banned because only Jund used it, but you still can't put it in any deck and call it Modern legal. If you're friends are cool playing with it that's fine, but don't try taking this to FNM without swapping her out.

@LeaPlath - thanks for the suggestions..
@pheonix_222 - actually, we play Modern legal in the shop I'm playing, and I still can use Bloodbraid Elf .. as long as I don't use it in a Jund deck.. It would still count as a sanctioned tournament.. As long as it isn't a live tournament..

@LastEdegy - Well then I hate to say it but your shop has been playing it wrong this whole time and your judges should been notified as soon as you dropped Bloodbraid Elf .
However I get the impression that your judges let you get away with this because you think it's a legal play. I've asked Judges in the meantime and If it's a sanctioned Magic event, the banned list in meant to be adhered to, no exceptions.
If it's casual then you guys are free to play as you like, but even at FNM, Bloodbraid Elf should stay in the deckbox.
April 24, 2013 11:10 a.m.
@pheonix_222 - I'm not the only only who thinks it's a legal play, that's why we didn't banned it in our Modern FNM.. Maybe we could adhere to it.. I may replace it in the meantime..

Vexing Devil seems to be the only one who doesn't have haste, why not changing it to another fast creature?
+1
