Sultai Aristocrats - Budget

Standard BUG (Sultai)

Thornbrow

Sideboard

Nantuko HuskThis is the deck that I plan on taking to Game Day this weekend. As I don't typically play standard, this was made with cards that I have in-hand, and is more of a budget-orientated list.

Why Sultai?

UB Aristocrats was a solid base for this deck, but I wanted to include green to have access to Evolutionary Leap, Catacomb Sifter, and Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. Respectively, these provide another sacrifice outlet without sacrificing card advantage, provide a token and reliability in our draws, and gives us Zombies & Delve enablers.

There is also the advantage of being able to pull Sultai Charm out of the sideboard to provide more versatility, and is also our only way to deal with problematic enchantments.

Synergies

Mirror Mockery + Sidisi's Faithful - Having both in your opening hand is a fantastic start that can help to delay your opponent by bouncing their early creatures while you establish your board state. The 4 toughness on Sidisi's Faithful is very relevant.

Mirror Mockery + Whirler Rogue - This gets out-of-hand very quickly if not answered. Getting permanent tokens out of the deal, enabling another unblockable creature, and an additional token to sacrifice make this combination very handy.

Hangarback Walker + Nantuko Husk - Sacrifice the walker to generate more sacrifice fodder.

Sultai Emissary + Sac Outlet - Replace one card with another, and have decent odds at manifesting a creature out of the deal.

Improvements

Obviously, there are a couple improvements that could make this deck better.

1) Zulaport Cutthroat should be a 4-of. This bucket of nails is a near-Blood Artist clone that gives meaning to all of the sacrificing that this deck does. He also provides a useful countering to aggro decks with his lifegain ability.

2) Hangarback Walker - Having at least one more of these would be nice, as saccing these to generate more tokens to sacrifice can provide a nice finisher for an unblockable Nantuko Husk .

3) Mana Base - This deck can be greatly improved with the new duals (tango-lands) printed in BfZ. Multiple copies of fetches would also be helpful in ensuring that cards can be more reliably played on the turns that you wish to play them (aka on curve).

4) Carrier Thrall - Swapping in a playset of these instead of Sultai Emissary is a good switch. Allows attacking into a Jace, Vryn's Prodigy   and still gives you a replacement creature after sacrificing.
