Considering deck overhaul for [[fatal push]] —Jan. 4, 2017
With aether revolt bringing another great piece of removal I might overhaul the list or may postpone until I test and see what Amonkhet brings.
Lumbering Falls is much better than you give it credit for. As for Shriekmaw is a rebuyable Terror with Liliana, the Last Hope. Thragtusk he is only good in the midrange match ups.
If you want to talk about Gerad ( the theif) Fabiano's deck, you have to realize that that meta was very different than the current one.
When his deck was good Splinter Twin was still legal and was a format defining even warping deck. Which made the format slower because everyone had to play reactive to deal with twin being 35% of the meta.

To be honest i am a big fan of Goyf, even though i only have 1 copy and i'm saving money for additional copies, because i'm a poor student, so for me the game is more of a "Magic the gathering of money" :D. I really like the spells chosen. Speaking of mana, i can understand ghost quarter against manlands, but lumbering falls doesn't seem very good to me. Hexproof can be reasonable but when LF compared to creepy arm pit, basically you get your man land killed by either removal spell or a creature with power 3+ and eventually the current meta has more 3+p creatures than removals. Also the 3/3 body is very poor - the same as treetop village, but twice as mana costly. The 1 copy of shriekmaw is a real curiosity :D i understand the feeling to bring some own tech, but the card isn't that good overall. Actually i would maybe try to fit in a single copy of thragtusk. That card is savage - also Gerard fabiano played that one in his bug control and it turned out to be a solid fatty especially against siege rhino or some other 4/5, because it gives you life, trades 1 for 1 and leaves a solid 3/3 token.
