Yeah, sorry about that. I didn't see it was modern.

Well it was a good card regardless, he could always use it in a legacy tournament or something.

I do that all the time, don't worry. Thanks for the suggestion, though; I can definitely make use of it if I go to any legacy tournaments.

What about Kismet or Frozen AEther so that all your opponets come into play tapped?

Cipher001 says... #5

I need that mana for cards that tap instantly, so I can use that mana to halt an attack and/or give card:Gideon's Avenger more power. Other cards may slow it down too much. Thanks, as always, for comments and/or upvotes!

Isochron Scepter would be amazing here. You could even throw in Silence , although you could just as easily use Downpour for 3 a turn! Love this concept!

That is a very good idea. I'll have to work on a good balance of getting Downpour and having Isochron Scepter . I may have to leave it as it is, but if I find a good balance, that's a great idea, thanks!

Very cool idea but how do you respond against decks that do not revolve around creatures ?

Cipher001 says... #9

I've sideboarded a few counterspell type cards. If I face a deck like that, I'll use sideboarded cards, like Counterspell .

December 26, 2012 7:37 p.m.

Cipher001 says... #10

Or other counters, since Counter isn't modern legal.

rakdos would kick butt, im working the bugs out of my deck so im trying it against the top ones but i am getting creatures out faster than you can tap them

Generally, when I playtest, I'm able to keep them down long enough with the cards that keep them tapped like Sleep , Frost Breath , and Blustersquall long enough to wipe out the other player's field with Sunblast Angel . The point isn't to have every single creature tapped, just the threats, then blow them all out with a sunblast. It doesn't hurt to have a card:Gideon's Avenger out as well. Thanks for deeming my deck worthing of playtesting, though!

I can see how haste would be a problem, though, but as long as I get Sunblast Angel or card:Gideon's Avenger out, I should be fine. Vexing Devil will be irritating, though.

I suggest Crippling Chill for tap and draw. +1 by me!

Cipher001 says... #16

I need cards that tap as many as possible, especially with that ability, like Frost Breath . Thanks for the upvote!

So, what do you think about Toils of Night and Day ? And Repel the Darkness , Reality Spasm , and ... Gigadrowse ?!?

December 29, 2012 11:36 a.m.

gioppasup says... #18

Oh, yes, and Cryptic Command !!! You play this during opponent turn... and then you play Sunblast Angel during your turn!

December 29, 2012 11:41 a.m.

Cipher001 says... #19

I need cards that tap as many as possible for the amount of mana I shell into it, which is why Toils of Night and Day , Repel the Darkness , and Reality Spasm don't work as well. I prefer Blustersquall to Gigadrowse for its overload ability. Cryptic Command is an extremely good card; unfortunately, it requires three blue mana, and doesn't work well with the white mana is necessary for Feeling of Dread , card:Gideon's Avenger, and most importantly, Sunblast Angel . Thanks for comments and/or upvotes as always.

This deck is really cool, +1.

If Sunblast Angel is doing good work, why not Righteous Fury ?

December 29, 2012 5:15 p.m.

Cipher001 says... #21

That is an amazing card for this deck. Unfortunately, I have to have as many attackers as I can, and I'd choose Sunblast Angel over Righteous Fury for that reason. I will sideboard it, though, in case I find a use for it. Plus, it's a legacy card; this deck is Modern. Thanks for the suggestion and upvote.

When GTC is released, have you considered Gridlock?

December 31, 2012 11:53 p.m.

Cipher001 says... #23

I might, I very well might. Probably not, though, seeing as Blustersquall or Sleep will take care of everything for 4 mana.

Thanks Cipher001!!! I liked your deck so much that I bought it in all foils. Playtested against my friends $300+/- and stomped him, by the end he was all tappedout ;P

Thanks again! Great addition to my collection!

PS: Running all 9th Ed. lands :P

You're welcome! Just curious, since this deck is so cheap, how much did it cost in all foils?
