Wow... And that's still less than most decks. Glad you could find a use for the deck! Also glad you beat a $300+ deck with it. Hope you keep finding a good use for it.

Thanks, and most my friends just mash cards together. But I'm thinking of going to some Tournaments and stuff. But the nearest one is like, 10mi from me that does Modern Format . . . :/ Not too bad of a travel, could even hit the lake after :D

A local shop is going to start running Modern FNM once a month and I'm going to build this deck with a few modifications (like Gideon Jura , Isochron Scepter , dual lands, and maybe Elspeth, Knight-Errant ) since my meta tends to run longer games. I'm pretty excited to see how this deck will fare against people who are dumping significantly more in to theirs.

@ helushuneYou should get Cockatrice for your PC and play a few rounds with me.

Good luck too all who are using my Sunblast deck!

Ya gotta have blind in a sunblast deck. They work very well together, if they attack you, Cloudshift your Sunblast Angel and destroy all attacking creatures = win.

You have to make sure you have enough tapping cards, though. Cloudshift only works well with Sunblast Angel anyway.

I decided to playtest my RDW verses your deck. I was impressed even though my deck was too fast for your deck to handle. I saw Due Respect in your side board and it would be pretty good at slowing down red and giving you a solid tempo play. You definitely need dual lands (even just common or uncommon duals). Double blue costs were a major problem in one of the games. Gridlock from Gatecrash will be a powerful card in this deck once it comes out.

I have heard a lot about gridlock. I do believe that the land balance is good as it is though; most of the time I get what I need, without the negative effects of most dual lands. I will consider Due Respect for haste decks though. Thanks for comments and/or upvotes as always!

It is a greeat theme, I like it but it has several limits. Do you think you will get Sunblast on turn 6 every game? Golgari, hexproof and counter spell decks have an edge here. A few plus on creatures, Loxodon Gatekeeper and an answer to discard or counter spells, Isochron Scepter and this deck has some power. Rely on those Avengers more and you could easily have one down to 10 or less life before turn 6.Several comments say you need dual lands (insert Morgan Freemans narritive) and with 16 WW or UU cards, you still think you have a good balance? Good luck. Seachrome Coast and Glacial Fortress .+1 Good job

perhaps: Ghostly Touch and Hands of Binding would give you the mana free tapping you require on the turn you want to use your Sunblast Angel ?

Have you considered Gridlock ?

I know you list this deck as "Budget" but Dungeon Geists and a flicker effect would do wonders in this deck

Before i forget: Blind Obedience for extreme hate from your opponent and extort is a bonus

I agree with playful_kitsune, Blind Obedience would do wonders in this deck.

i know you probably want to keep this just W/U, but with a black splash you have Royal Assassin , and Assassinate at your disposal.

Those are WAY too slow for a deck like mine that uses cards for mass tapping and powering up through card:Gideon's Avenger, using Sunblast Angel later. Only one destroyed, after summoning sickness, for three mana just doesn't cut it.

February 23, 2013 6:10 p.m.

since Blind Obedience doesn't trigger Gideon's Avenger 's ability u would replace them with Cloudshift
