I don't know if you have room, but Frozen AEther might help you.

Thanks, and there really isn't much room for anything else in the deck.

you should add 2 Rogue's Passage .

  • many of your spells target creatures, which would make hex proof untappable

  • You run no card draw, so once you deplete your hand, you won't have cards coming in to tap creatures and swing him in. having a Rogue's Passage on the field to secure damage is crucial.

xzzane, back me up on this, haha. from reading your brothers posts he may not be open to play testing.

I would try to get your hands on some Sphinx's Revelation

@yo_ninja, I usually have good draws, no need. @ Dreno33- I'll think about the Rogue's Passage , but I need colored mana.

Well this has always been intended as a more casual deck than a competitive one. But Dreno33 is right in that hexproof would royally screw you over. Sphinx's Revelation or the Rogue's Passage I think would be good here.

For what then?

I have created many decks around this concept (using Royal Assassin ). Trust me, in a deck like this you want card advantage and you should be running Sphinx's Revelation . Just because you "usually have good draws" doesn't mean that luck is going to back you up when you need to topdeck a Sunblast. There's many cards in blue and white that give you extra cards, extra turns, etc.. There's no excuse not to run them. You could even run Azorius Charm and get more use out of your Sunblast.

Sunblast uses tapping mostly defensively for a while until it can hit the field rolling and thoe cards just don't work for the mana you have to put into them. Also, I had blind obedience a while ago, but Imposing Sovereign took it place.

I really like this deck's concept. I bought it and have been playing it for a short while. It seems like it has trouble converting tapped creatures into further action unless Sunblast Angel or Gideon Jura are available. Have you considered adding cards like Vengeance , Excoriate , Giant Oyster or Surrakar Banisher ?

Cipher001 says... #24

While I have considered such cards, they are not as good as what are already there. I wouldn't take anything out for any of those cards- everything is there for a reason. The four entire mana for taking out one creature, such as the case for Excoriate , is best keeping the opponent shut down with Sleep or Blustersquall , or even preparing for future events with Talrand, Sky Summoner . I do see what you mean though. That's why Talrand's here though; he makes use of their being tapped with an armada of drakes to the face.

Good point about Talrand, Sky Summoner . I had forgotten about him because the people I was playing shut him down very quickly and I hadn't had a chance to really capitalize on him yet. You could always add in those few more cards without removing others. And I know that four mana is a lot in this deck to destroy just one creature, but it could be an effective use of a turn between, say, two tapping turns if Sunblast Angel or Gideon Jura aren't available.
