Pssst. Hey, kid. D'ya like Magic? How'd you like to play for cheap? Nah, not that cheap, CHEAPER!

That's right, kiddo, for under $10 Uncle BigPappyJ's got your hook up.

Oh, you've heard of me? You've seen the super awesome The Poor Planeswalker's Guide To BW Blink? Well, look at you.

But that's not what I've got for you. No, a kid of your refined tastes wants something... different...

Check it: You've got yourself a bunch of creatures with sweet Enters the Battlefield effects, right? Now, how'd you like to enjoy those over and over and over again?

Yeah, that's the good stuff, right?

We're talking 19 creatures that cause some trouble when they ETB. Life gain, clues, tokens on a land/creature, tokens in general, forcing your opponent to skip their combat phase, exile a creature, whew, what chaos!

Now imagine you could blink those puppies for additional impact. We've got TEN cards to help do the flicker, a couple of 'em can flicker multiple cards for maximum impact.

Easy now, kiddo, I see you getting antsy, but I ain't done yet.

Now you've got something like Court Street Denizen that takes advantage of all of this coming and going.

But the sweet stuff is the blinky effects most folks forget about.

Look at that Fiend Hunter (not too closely, now, he bites). You've got four mana up and the Hunter in your hand with a Cloudshift. Play the Fiend and while that first ETB ability is on the stack -- Cloudshift that bad boy. Why? Well, now that first "leaves the battlefield" trigger resolves before the first "enters the battlefield".

Let's go to the stack:

  • Fiend Hunter enters the battlefield
  • First ETB trigger enters the stack
  • Fiend Hunter gets Cloudshifted
  • First LTB trigger enters the stack
  • Fiend Hunter enters the battlefield again
  • Second ETB trigger enters the stack

Then we resolve:

  • Second ETB trigger resolves, exile target creature
  • First LTB trigger resolves, nothing happens
  • First ETB trigger resolves, exile target creature, but since the first Fiend Hunter no longer exists and already left the battlefield, that puppy is exiled FOR GOOD.

Cute, eh?

How about another trick. Sagu Mauler. How would you like a 6/6 Hexproof, Trample for 3W?

Cast him facedown. The Cloudshift him. He reenters the battlefield FACEUP! Here comes trouble!

It ain't pretty. But it sure is fun.

So what do you think, kid? That's an awful lot of good times for under $10. You can't even get a hippity hop cassette tape for that much these days.

Uncle BigPapyJ's got you covered, kid. Now give me ten bucks.

Resetting the sideboard as I revisit the deck on the whole and consider some new options in recent sets. Still aiming to keep the maindeck budget under $10 and the sideboard in the $5 range. We shall see.
