Snaps are a utility. The idea of the deck is to deny them resources. Lillie removes creatures and cards in hand while Jace stocks me up on cards I need. Lilies ult removes half their board. Bolas is an instant scoop. Tragic slip, dreadbore, bonfire, and curse all remove their threats. In the end, they are left struggling to get anything out. All i do is Bolas their remaining lands or Lili ult their remaining lands. Than I can do whatever I do to win or watch them scoop. Back to the point. Snaps just allow my graveyard to be another threat on top of my control in hand.

Ah, ok then. I'm curious how well do you normally do with this deck? I typically play aggro but I'v always appreciated Grixis control so is it any good right now?

ultimate price and pillars subdue most aggro sense they focus on mono colored creatures. Control decks are never given the opportunity to play anything due to lack of cards in hand and lands on field. I will post an update Sat with my FNM results

I made a couple adjustments and tried this deck outI dropped- 2 Jace, Architect of Thought -2 Tamiyo, the Moon Sage -1 Liliana of the Veil - 2 Bonfire of the Damned (Mostly because I didn't want to shell out extra money for cards I didn't have access too =P)
And added +2 Olivia Voldaren +1 Talrand, Sky Summoner +4 Searing Spear
My area has MOSTLY aggro matchups so this deck worked INCREDIBLY well for a control player such as myself
You got me +Vote :D

Very nice! I just bought 2 Lilianas, but my Grixis control is doing pretty badly (and likely won't do much better with here addition), so I may invest in some Jace and Tamiyo and try something like what you've got here! I actually have two Gideon, Champion of Justice that I pulled in packs, so I'll have to consider a white-inclusive Superfriends build - only I don't get to use Bolas in that case, so not sure if want.

Wait wait wait - does card:Curse of Death's Hold really prevent Snapcaster Mage from triggering? I thought he would enter as a 1/0 creature and immediately die, not go straight from stack to graveyard. Was this judge confirmed?
