It does require a couple specific items in hand, but if you're lucky enough, here it is. If you're just looking to get into Modern and tight on money, here's a doozey:

T1 - Land; Nivmagus Elemental.

T2 - Assault Strobe; Exile five instants/sorceries from your hand giving the elemental ten +1/+1 counters making it an 11/12 double-strike (22 damage); GG.

Of course, this works best when you have the first play, or they don't have a discard like Duress to short your hand. Also, this requires your hand having Nivmagus Elemental, Assault Strobe, 4x instants/sorceries, and 1x Land in your opening hand, then drawing the 5th in/so on your second turn draw. It's janky, I know, but that's Modern on a budget, right?
