A bit to slow for this deck! Corpsejack Menace and Kalonian Hydra do the same but i have a creature which trigger the sage!

Better than Doom Blade, (and what you'll see more often): Path to Exile.

  • Watches turn 5 as the opponent thinks he has won with his big ass hydra. He enters combat, I respond with Vapor Snap. Oh and you lose a life.

I'd recommend Guttural Response and Ranger's Guile for more protection.

I'm thinking This needs Vines of Vastwood it's anti removal and can be used to stop your opponent from targeting their own creatures so it's an effective twin neuterer

The decks that have the plan of which cards they will draw make me laugh...

I would reduce this to the essential parts (why the hell aren't there 4 corpsejack menace in the deck already?) and remove redundant stuff in favour of protection and removal.

@ Winterblast That is why there is such a sideboard, but what are your suggestions?

I think you should focus on what your goal is and which Cards are best for that. One essential Card here is surely corpsejack menace, as it has a great effect with a solid Body and it's one of the reasons you even Play black. hardened scales is also important, especially because it's also an replacement effect and that means (if I'm correct) that you can Combine it with corpsejack menace, getting (X+1)*2 Counters for each regular Counter put on a creature.

Vigor is an Overkill, 6 mana in modern should do more than just prevent damage on your creatures imo. I would pick the best Hydra and Play 4 of it, 2nd best Hydra too (or maybe less). These would be Kalonian Hydra and Primordial Hydra because they can trample and have a good Balance between cost and effect.

Your Idea with Gyra Sage is nice but it feels very slow. Gyre sage costs 2, only makes mana after you have cast another, bigger creature! And then it's still within reach for a Lightning Bolt. It hurts to remove a Card of which you have thought it was THE trick in your deck, but in fact this is very slow and unstable.

Use Thoughtseize and/or Inquisition of Kozilek when you already Play black...also Maelstrom Pulse is an idea. cut heroe's bane and polukranos - not as good as they look imo.

@ Winterblast I changed the deck with your comments. I left the gyre sage and the heroes bane in for the flavor. Thanks for your help. This deck has given me many flavorful victorious evenings and i'm hoping it keeps doing so!

Uhm, what do you want with 1 (!) Thoughtseize or Inquisition? That's something you want to see every game! Play 4 thoughtseize or 4 inquisition, maybe split them 3/3 or 4/2, depending on what you mostly play against. Also removal should be constant draws, not 1of in the whole deck...you'll never find all these 1ofs when you need them.
