If there is one crime I am guilty of, it is being too merciful.

So how does this work?:

  • Cheap disruption: The idea of this deck is to produce huge amounts of disruption via low costing creatures and board control, leading up to a well placed Armageddon for the victory.

  • One sided punishment: Mainboard Suppression Field or Winter Orb wrecks many decks game one, which forces them to board for the enchantment removal or suffer. Neither of these pose much of a problem to the deck itself, as your mana curve peaks at two, which is easy to settle around potentially turn one with the Armageddon-proof Chrome Mox.

  • Tempo trampling creatures: Critters are there to protect you while you gear up. They are rather effective early game, forcing your opponent to waste precious mana and tempo killing them. This advantage is held late game once the Suppression Field pops out and boosts their kill costs.

  • Forgiving mana curve: You can be good for turns and turns on end with a mere Plains and Chrome Mox in the opening hand. By the time you play out the rest of your hand you'll usually have grabbed another mana source.

  • Punishes unprepared decks: Suppression Field on it's own can completely ruin a poorly constructed deck, hosing Fetchlands (most hilariously with pain lands), Planeswalkers, Aether Vial, Sensei's Divining Top, and Rishadan Port. All of these cards represent strong, core ways for your opponent to gain an advantage, all of which are hampered to the point of uselessness by the Suppression Field.

Problems:

  • There is no card advantage. This deck often ends up top decking, hoping for something it needs. This is remedied somewhat by every card being useful on its own, not simply relying on synergy. However this is something that could definitely be worked on.
