just YES, much many yes, +1 from me

the only problem there could be is if this deck goes against a Naya Blitz or the like. there isn't much early game blocking etc. (4x Burning-Tree Emissary 2/2, 1x Legion Loyalist 1/1, 3x Gyre Sage 2/3 b/c of BTE)

i would suggest just a few more early game stall cards, like even some Goblin Electromancer s would be good. But I don't want to upset the balance of this deck, which, unlike mine own, is perfect

i think frostburn weird would be really good here. goblin electromancer wont do so much and is harder to cast.

Does the mana created with your BTE ever get wasted?

@colez: Sometimes it does, but usually I can find something to use it for. The only thing is most spells I use it for require an additional mana, so BTE's not so much replacing itself with another spell rather than providing a body and either mana fixing or just letting me cast something I had the mana for anyway.

I would suggest to drop 1xChromatic Lantern and 1xBurning-Tree Emissary for 2xFrostburn Weird . Also in sideboard in cost of 1xSerene Remembrance or 1xNaturalize you may get 1 or 2xPlasm Capture . It should be nice removal with additional mana balance which you may side with Mercurial Chemister for example, against strong agro/control decks, this card i'm afraid can't do much.

@BopoHDark: I'm gonna try out Skylasher for now. It offers me a blocker with reach that also evolves Gyre Sage . Plus it can stand up to some larger flyers if it follows a Master Biomancer .

Skylasher is definitely a good chiose. With his flash ability you could surprise your opponent, evolve sage and block some attacking flyers.

What if you take 1xSkarrg Goliath instead of 1xAEtherling , this could give you 2nd good wincon just for it's bloodrush ability. Besides with its 8 cmc it's still good for Blast of Genius .

Good ideas, i like fun decks like this one, moreover when they can be competitive one. +1, definitely.

When i looked at it, i immediatly tried to do something with your idea, more control oriented, but keeping the basics (such as Master Biomancer , Gyre Sage , Blast of Genius , Worldspine Wurm ...).

I removed things i didn't understand such as the full Chromatic Lantern playset. Ral Zarek ' s +1 ability is good with Gyre Sage alone, but maybe a full playset of Gilded Lotus would be better than the chromatics (while gilded lotus is still available). Just suggestions.

What are the Serene Remembrance here for ?! To face junk rites archetype ? assuming they sided something to destroy Ground Seal (assuming green always side Ground Seal ) ?

If so, maybe i can propose you to make a few sideboard change :

Because if i'm true, you want your Master Biomancer out by turn 4. Moreover, Plasm Capture is hard to cast in my opinion.

I really love the idea of countering the turn 3 or 4 threat, before landing your Master Biomancer , moreover, the "exile" thing is extremely relevant nowadays (rites and snapcaster have seen too many plays). Basically, more versatile counterspells.

@hellsoul: The deck's specifically RtR block, as mentioned in the description. I do agree on Spell Rupture though, there's not enough early drop creatures in this deck to justify it. Chromatic Lantern fixes my whole mana base, plus ramps for the following turn. Plasm Capture is for Control/Midrange matches, letting me 2 for 1, and Serene Remembrance was a thought in case Obzedat's Aid starts seeing action. Or anything of the sort.

How would Savageborn Hydra do in this deck? Also +1 from me! :)

I've considered the Hydra or even Nimbus Swimmer , problem is that if I get one by accident with Unexpected Results the value of X will be 0. So they'd die unless Master Biomancer 's already out to play.

emrakool did you think about 2xPossibility Storm in place of 2xSerene Remembrance in your sideboard, it could be very nice against control decks.

Hm, you do have a point about the Savageborn Hydra and the Nimbus Swimmer . Also, how' bout a Glaring Spotlight over one Chromatic Lantern . This, in combination with a Worldspine Wurm coming from an Unexpected Results seems maybe like overkill :D Plus, it would be good to have some leverage over heavy hexproof-type decks.

@BopoHDark: I actually considered it for the main deck at one point, just to continue on the mad genius theme. My only concern is throwing another 5cc card in with all the other high costs in the deck.

@MrMister34: That was the idea with Legion Loyalist . I can throw it down with Master Biomancer (s) out and get the counters, then swing with it and all the other huge creatures to give them trample.

I see, could you please tell me though, is x2Unexpected Results enough to get them at the times you need them the most? And, with this deck, will you be using them to acquire more lands or get higher mana creatures into play (or both)?

I guess not really, but I felt I needed to cut one for another creature just for now to stabilize things. Maybe if some more decent low cost control shows up I'll run more of that instead and put the 3rd Unexpected Results back in. Unfortunately it's not a great card, just fun to abuse.

So I don't know if you've been following the M14 Spoiler or not, but you should check out Kalonian Hydra, Garruk, and Savage Summoning so you can start making room for them.. They would all be ridiculous in this deck, especially the Hydra

I've got some dirty ideas for Kalonian Hydra, most of them involving Exava, Rakdos Blood Witch . ;)

I just found 1 card wich, i supose, definetly should be in this deck and it's Vorel of the Hull Clade . You could put it in main deck for 1xMaster Biomancer and 1xBurning-Tree Emissary . It has low mana cost and will give evolve to Gyre Sage . And of course its insane double counter ability has lethal combo with Ral Zarek +1 ability.

That might be a possibility, I'll try it out. :)

Ditto on the hydra. I have some mean deas brewing for that thing. Would be a pretty solid addition to this deck

I sure wouldn't. Shock is not as versatile.
