He's too easy of a target at times, but I can throw him back in.

Ya unfortunately you're right but he makes the deck.

Pretty sure that's probably the best deck name ever.

Haha thanks! While the original intent for this deck was making Unexpected Results and Worldspine Wurm a thing, I wanted something else to do with the wurm if it wasn't wreaking havoc by Turn 4. Then I saw Blast of Genius and the inspiration for a name hit me like a monkey trained to do kung fu.

Deck seems slow, and I have a great deal of difficulty seeing this in serious competitive play, but DAMN does it look... INSANELY fun...... All dem combos... :P

like the deck drew plenty of cards but u want to know how to really get mana? ... Illusionist's Bracers for infinite combo with Kiora's Follower

February 5, 2014 1:51 a.m.

Emrakool says... #8

I would need 2 Kiora's Follower in play, because it untaps "another" target permanent.

I've seen a deck like this at my LGS, theirs used Prophet of Kruphix to cast multiple end of turn Zhur-Taa Ancient to cast an easy Enter the Infinite into Borborygmos Enraged win on the opponents turn.
Not necessary to go down this route, but that deck performed reasonably well for what it is if you're just after ideas.

What did they use to cast Enter the Infinite on their opponent's turn? Either way, it's not so much a primary win condition for me as an if it happens and it works then that's cool.

killkong1211 says... #12

No no, they didn't Enter on the opponents turn (though the answer to that question is Quicken ).
As in they went Prophet of Kruphix on their turn, end of the opponents turn Zhur-Taa Ancient (They cast multiples), then on their turn cast Enter the Infinite , drop Borbs on the opponents turn and filter land for the win.

I really like this deck, it is really creative and fun while still being at least semi-competitive.

I love the deck, I love how it plays, I love the name, and I love your description of the deck. Overall amazing job. 10/10 +1

@ LordOfDispair and NoctisSemper: Thanks! I'll admit it may not be top 4 material, but it'll win some games and turn heads in the process. All while being hella fun to play.

@Tuckman315: It may play inconsistently from time to time, but I've been tinkering with this deck for awhile and I've managed to pull off wins a variety of ways. Master Biomancer + Xenagos, The Reveler or Primeval Bounty can take over games if left unchecked. My biggest concern so far has been control (since my card advantage is creature-based), which is why I recently added Domri Rade and Mistcutter Hydra to the SB.

While to some it may look like a jumbled mess of crap, it's more of an intentionally unpredictable deck. So there's a method to the madness, and a certain amount of strategy involved.

I WANT THIS DECK. GIVE IT TO ME.

Someon needs to make a budget version. I don't care if it's viable or not, I need to see a budget version of this. I'll do it if I have to!

You win my internets. Take them, take them all.

Emrakool says... #18

Thanks! I'm sure a budget version's possible, most of this deck's win conditions are under $3 apiece. It's the cards that help make it fairly stable that cost an arm and a leg.

February 17, 2014 11:16 p.m.

Araganor says... #19

That's always been the issue with budget building. The cards that provide the best consistency cost the most money. At least with green you have access to some fixers. I'm thinking it could work with a few mana rocks, possibly some keyrunes. I'll work it out later, gotta sleep (blasphemy I know).

I was looking at your interactions, what about Blast of Genius + Enter the Infinite for a LOT of damage?

February 23, 2014 2:59 p.m.

Emrakool says... #22

True, I guess it's sort of also implied although at least with Worldspine Wurm it has the opportunity to be useful after the discard as well. I did actually win a game with said combo last week, attacking with Stormbreath Dragon on Turns 4/5 and following up with Blast of Genius + Enter the Infinite to finish things off.

Oh goodness, the shenanigans!!!! Janky nonsense is what makes magic fun, so this is just the best deck in my eyes. As a suggestion, have you thought about Possibility Storm ? It's kind of like Unexpected Results .....but on super mega crack. It also improves the chance of pulling off the Enter the Infinite + Borbor combo: drop a cheap sorcery, turn it into Enter the Infinite , put back Borbor, cast the cheapest creature you have, turns into Borbor, bye-bye lands, win!!!!

Getting Worldspine Wurm as a creature is somewhat more likely as well.

Emrakool says... #24

Thanks! I have thought about it, but after much internal debate I stuck with and actually increased both creatures at 5cc to a full playset. The extra Stormbreath Dragon have been paying off as a good beater without the ridiculous mana costs, and Mercurial Chemister has earned a special place in my heart. Sure, it's easy enough to kill. But if you don't or can't kill it right away, crazy things happen.

I may still find room in the SB for it to use in control matchups. Haven't really decided on what I'd cut for it yet.

Been a fan of this deck since before rotation. Just revisited to check up on it. Theros block has been good to this deck. Wish I could give it another +1. So much fun in a jumble of unpredictable synergy!
