All the instants in the deck can deal with faster decks, so the deck, minus the combos, can easily play a control strategy. Because of Pariah + Swans of Bryn Argoll 's complete lockout, if you can bolt, helix, and leak their spells for the first 4 turns, you win on turn 5.

Hey that's actually a great idea, OpenFire. I'd at least think about that for sure Jayfeather

Lightning Storm Reliquary Tower might find a home in this deck?

I feel like Remand would be better for the deck than the set of Mana Leak because it has the dual function of disrupting your opponent and saving protecting your combo pieces from countermagic.

It's too expensive, but I might try. If you don't have a budget, add it in.

I really like your deck! I tried to find some good suggestions such as Volcano Hellion, Shivan Meteor, Diviner's Wand... But, even if all those cards would fit in some way into the deck, it runs better without. The only thing I can do is +1!

Maybe I can suggest Swiftfoot Boots, to complete the lock, giving hexproof to swans.

This is a pretty good original deck for a local game store FNM.

Past that, however, it's going to have issues. It is extremely slow for Modern, and your combo relies entirely on your opponent not being able to remove Swans or not being able to ignore it. If you don't have Swan Song in hand and someone plays Path to Exile or counters, that's it - and to make your soft (it is not at all complete) lock work, you also need Pariah to stick as well, when many of the decks in Modern have easy answers for enchantments.

I understand you want to be original and try out something new in Modern, and this deck looks pretty fun for FNM. It is a good fit for that environment - but understand that for competitive play, at a fundamental level this deck is going to have a a hard time against more established decks.

Yes, I see what you're saying.

The way I hope to survive is via control. The deck does a decent job of being a control deck, and with the sideboard in, it can be defined as more of a control deck then a combo deck. But thanks for the lengthy feedback.

Good day sir!

Just a thought.. would the Swans of Bryn Argoll + Fatal Attraction not be better suited as a late game draw engine for a burn deck? like 2 birds plus 3 attractions for turn 6: I draw 5 cards, therefore you are dead.

It could work in a burn deck, but it helps alot in the deck as well.

Fatal Attraction + Swans of Bryn Argoll sounds ridiculous. I draw 2 upon casting this, then proceed to draw 5 every turn. Card advantage? I think so.

Kameenook, I originally had that in there, but it wasn't worth it.
