Is there any way to improve that matchup? I think that running 3 Duress in the sideboard has helped me a little, but I don't think it's effective. Stony Silence has also been decent if I get it out early enough.

Also, any thoughts on how to deal with the mirror matchup or Elves (the version that ramps into Craterhoof Behemoth)?

Zealous Persecution should be enough by itself against elves. And honestly if it's g/r Tron there is very little tokens can do to win. It's one of the hardest, if not the hardest matchups we have.

Guess what made it to a meta deck again lol. Never expected that ;-).

Jsusx - well it was already considered a 1,5 on the teir list if I recall right.

May I ask what you think about the new Sorin, Solemn Visitor? Have you tried him yet? (though I think Elspeth is superior, and I like her better, I wonder what you think about this card). I've been following your deck for quite a while now, and recently I found out about the Modern Event Deck: March of the Multitudes. Might buy it and start building my own b/w token deck piece by piece :)

xzzane, it might be time to start your own "Cards I will not use" list. The same cards appear again and again and again.

Eurydice if you play with Bitterblossom solemn visitor is amazing, otherwise, he might be a bit too overkill, I think.

Femme_Fatale, I think you might be right. I'll do that sometime in the near future when I'm not busy writing an essay. Eurydice, Solemn visitor needs a stable board presence to be useful. Kjartan is correct, Solemn visitor is quite good in conjunction with blossom. Otherwise, you're better off with Elspeth.

This may be just me missing the boat before you cleared the comments but I was wondering about the change from Rest in Peace to Timely Reinforcements in the sideboard.

Burn is more prominent. Delve is nonexistent.

Ok, thanks for the clarification!

Based on your sideboard you really hate burn.

I think stanislav cifka was pretty succesful with a b/w token deck running sorin solemn visitor and bitterblossom @protour fate reforged.

Blossom was a meta call. There was a ridiculous amount of abzan, and blossom helps against that archetype. But tokens already does well against abzan, and blossom hinders tokens in worse matchups. I would advise against getting blossom, at least for the moment, because as soon as the meta shifts again blossom will no longer be as good. Great list though.

Have you thought about Mana Tithe as a sideboard option? Seems like itd be something people wouldn't expect to see and could be used to your advantage.

xzzane says... #18

Its unusual, but certainly not worth the spot. Much better slots for other cards.

Have you played against combo decks like splinter twin, or ad nauseam? Does thoughtseize, iok, and tidehollow sculler do enough work against decks like that? I was thinking about Mana Tithe for when those decks tap out to get their combos out because they wouldn't be expecting a counter spell out of a black white deck. Also have you used this list in any grand prixs or pro tours? And if so how does it do usually compared to the tier 1 decklists.

Consider that instead of drawing Mana Tithe you could have drawn Torpor Orb instead against twin. And yeah, it's typically a good enough array of disruption to slow them down enough to win. And sadly I have been unable to attend a grand prix. Every time one came around I would always be insanely busy :/ I'm determined to go to one later though! I'll tell you how I do once I do go to one. A lot of my experience comes from my old meta before I moved to college. I would regularly play against people that had won multipled SCG tournaments and the like, so it gave me a lot of experience in playing against pro level people. The first time I went there I got my ass handed to me like no one's business haha. By the time I left though I never failed to make it to the top 8. This deck actually does very well against abzan, which is incredibly common in the current meta. Tokens is a "fair" deck, but it can still hold its own when built and piloted right.

Cool, well thank you for all of your feedback, I'm working on a deck like this so I appreciate all of your feedback and willingness to answer questions. And that makes more sense to just use torpor orb.

No problem, I'm always happy to help with questions about b/w tokens. And yeah haha.

You should definitely be running 4 Leyline of Sanctity. I know that Kor forwalker is good too and helps a lot in the burn matchup too(especially when they board in 4 Destructive Revelry), but you have kozilek/duress/TS effects to get rid of destructive revelry, so leyline is probably the better choice here.

I finally made up my list together with a friend (you can find it on my profile if you want). I was discussing with him the lack of draw for this deck (I always run out of card against control) and he suggested Phyrexian Arena as an option. What do you think?

February 26, 2015 3:33 p.m.

bigguy99 says... #25

Phyrexian Arena would take up the already tight 3-drop spot and isn't really needed anyway.
