I think Sorin, Lord of Innistrad may fit better in a Junk tokens build where he can be accelerated into.

That deck is super fun to play test against. I was able to just skim by last second with a Detention Sphere but it was looking super bleak there for a bit. Great midrange deck and I am curious to see how it fares against other modern deck.

MR H3AT, thanks for the complement. This deck performs very well against most other Modern decks. I run into problems with Jund and Melirapod, but I have Auriok Champion to help slow down jund and my sideboard helps stop melirapod from working how it should. Detention Sphere is a bitch for tokens though, hate that card haha. If you like it, please upvote! I really liked your USA control deck as well. How does it perform against decks?

T1 U marsh flats into a swamp, cast thoughtseize to take out 1 of the 2 Deathrite Shaman in my hand.
T1 I play a swamp & cast the other DS
T2 U play Fetid Heath & tap the swamp to cast another Thoughtseize u just drew & IoK taking out my Lashwrithe & Sign in blood (my hand now only contains swamps)
T2 I play a swamp and exile your Thoughtseize with DS for 2 damage
T3 U play Lingering Souls.
T3 I draw Lilly, play a swamp & activate her +1, U discard a Tidehollow Sculler & I discard a Misty Rainforest. (both players are now topdecking)
T4 U play Raise the Alarm & tokens attack Lilly.
T4 I exile your Lingering Souls with DS. then -2 Lilly on u, u sac a token.
T5 U draw & play an Isolate Chapel + Attack with tokens for 3
T5 I play another swamp & another Lilly + activate her -2, U sac another token.
T6 Midnight Haunting, U take out my Lilly + 1 damage.
T6 I play Phyrexian Obliterator and attack DS which is blocked by a token.
T7 U topdeck another Midnight Haunting + attack with tokens for 3.
T7 Obliterator Attacks for 5 unblocked. DS exiles Midnight Haunting for 2
T8 U topdeck Hero of the Blade + attack with 5 1/1 flying tokens for 5 unblocked.
T7 I play an Overgrown Tomb, Exile the other Midnight Haunting for 2 with DS & attack with Obliterator. Hero of the Blade + 1 Token block it, taking out the Obliterator and forcing u to sac the other tokens + 1 Fetid Heath. Still alive though. Life at this point is u 6 me 9.
T7 I exile Raise the Alarm with DS for 2. Then double cast Smallpox. Boards are now wiped completely on both sides. I have 3 mana u have 1.
T8 U draw & play an Isolate Chapel.
T8 I topdeck a Verdant Catacombs and crack it into an Overgrown Tomb.
T9 U draw a Tomb of the Archangel
T9 Overgrown Tomb
T10 Plains
T10 Marsh Flats
T11 Lingering Souls
T11 Deathrite Shaman
T12 U draw Thoughtseize, Recast Lingering Souls & attack with Tokens for 2. (game is now tied 4/4)
T12 I draw Thoughtseize & exile Small pox for 2
T13 U attack with 4 1/1 flying tokens for the win.
Good match, both decks did well, and kinda got screwed at the same time.

Im going to do some more play tests. In the above if I wouldnt have cracked the un needed fetch into a tomb, I would have won. ...that being said, my thought was to thin the deck of mana to help draw a creature of some sort. it backfired though.

I haven't been able to fully test out my America control just yet. It works well against aggro and ramp based decks and it has an interesting match up against other control decks.

I would drop Isolate Chapel. Add in some more fetches or basics.
Considered 1 or 2 copies of Timely Reinforcements ?
I would drop Tidehollow Sculler for Seek
September 5, 2013 11:35 p.m.
I really can't afford to add much more fetches due to the lack of plains and swamps I have overall. Isolated Chapel has proved to be a very useful card for me though, so I will keep it as is. I need the consistency of being able to use either white or black mana when the need arises. As for Timely Reinforcements it just isn't that good of a card to be frank. There are so many other cards that would be better for 3 mana. And Tidehollow Sculler is infinitely better than Seek . I deal with the immediate problems at hand with sculler, but with seek I may not even see the card in their library. It really doesn't give me that much of an advantage to be frank. I could see it going into my sideboard maybe, but definitely not mainboard.

Sculler dies to things like Abrupt Decay and U get whatever was exiled returned. Not to mention your deck has plenty of discard already. If u top decked a Seek late game, you could easily recover all that life u lost early game from fetches, thoughts, and shocks.
Timely Reinforcements is not a good card if your already winning, but if your loosing, it's a total kick ass card that could turns things around for you. (which is kind of what made me suggest seek, your deck kills itself pretty quick)
Well I do think Arid Mesa would make you have a more stable mana base, I also think u need to be running 24-25 lands in this deck. Isolated Chapel isn't bad but the fetches and a few more basics would make things run a lot smoother.

It's still a much better card than Seek though. Just trust me on this; no competitive deck runs Seek over Tidehollow Sculler . It's simply not as good of a card as you think it is. And Timely Reinforcements is just way too unreliable. My Midnight Haunting s are so much better than it to be frank. As for the life lost, that's something that can be brought back through Auriok Champion or Vault of the Archangel . I'm not going to sacrifice on the rest of the deck's quality just so I can gain more life. And this is more of an aggro/control deck. Purely control decks run that much mana, but that much of a mana base would really just slow me down. What I have right now I believe is the best combination of lands that I can have. Sorry if I sound too rejecting, I just know what would work for the deck and what wouldn't.

Midnight Haunting is an ok card but I think you would be better of with either 2x Elspeth, Knight-Errant or 1 more Hero of Bladehold and 1 moreHonor of the Pure , other than that great deck. +1.
September 8, 2013 4:21 p.m.
Midnight Haunting is really useful due to its instant speed; I can surprise the opponent with it and catch them off guard. I used to hate it, but then I realize it can be useful like that. Plus I need to draw token producers in general haha.
September 8, 2013 4:24 p.m.
any reason for Raise the Alarm over Gather the Townsfolk ?
September 12, 2013 11:27 p.m.
beyond that, something you could try is Bloodthrone Vampire or Nantuko Husk (most likely as a sideboard card) if you can find the room, for a "sneaky" win condition. With a lot of tokens out, even if they kill it, they MUST focus everything on that one creature, so it's a great distraction at worst.+1 from me!
September 12, 2013 11:32 p.m.
alright, huge difference, never noticed that. Definitely running Alarm in my decks instead, because Fateful Hour never seems to apply to me
September 12, 2013 11:34 p.m.
Roboid, I do like the idea of Bloodthrone Vampire , but it doesn't work as well as I think you think it would unfortunately. The point of token decks is to "swarm and conquer" your opponent with cards, a Bloodthrone Vampire could just be chump blocked and I'm out of a lot of firepower. And Raise the Alarm has proved to be very good in this deck. And your +1 didn't go through, but I appreciate the thought nonetheless haha!
September 13, 2013 2:53 p.m.
I need to stop suggesting when it's late and I'm half asleep, I don't know what I was thinking. I honestly don't remember "swarm and conquer" even being the name of the deck. -__-;
yeah, I made a deck with bloodthrone vampire, and I'm thinking she's all set staying over in that deck and not in this one. I +1'd again, and it should have gone through. Nice deck!
September 13, 2013 4:24 p.m.
Haha that's alright. And thanks again for the +1 and the complement!

There's one card that might interest you: Devouring Greed . It might be nice as a one - two of finisher. Other than that, I might try Sorin, Lord of Innistrad instead of Hero of Bladehold, just so you get the permanent bonus a turn earlier. On the other hand, it might work to try both.
September 22, 2013 11 a.m.
Devouring Greed I actually had in a casual spirit deck I made a while back. Unfortunately, for this deck it could prove to be a worthless draw, or not as good as just leaving my spirits be. It's a good thought, but the execution of the card doesn't work as well. Even in my pure spirit deck I ran into problems with it. And I really like Sorin, Lord of Innistrad . I actually thought of having him in here for the longest of times, but when it comes down to it the 4 drop space simply has to go to Hero of Bladehold . Thanks for the comment though! Please +1 if you like the deck.

Got a +1 from me. The only thing is that your opponent can use the life loss from the lands to their advantage.

I had very similar thoughts about it at first too Eskimole. But the fact that it is instant speed means I can do much more with it. Having four Spectral Procession is something that I would advise against due to the Vault of the Archangel s and the Swamp I have. You would be surprised at how often I have been unable to play it due to lack of white mana. As for sorin, he is simply too slow for the Modern format for my tastes. Everything else that I run I believe to do a better job than he would.
