I originally had Geist-Honored Monk before I found card:Conqueror's Pledge. Between the two, I would rather gave the 6 tokens. It was a hard decision though. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh, ok... Also Blade Splicer Would Be Fun...

Blade Splicer doesn't really fit in with this deck very well. I'm afraid.

I think playing 11 anthems will lose you games (or at least be forced into mulligans) when you find yourself drawing into all the anthems in the world when you really need something more solid. I'm not sure on the actual optimum number of anthems for a deck like this, but I would guess it's somewhere from 7 to 9.

As far as Blade Splicer goes, its not about consolidating your own strategy, but rather about hurting the aggressive creature decks that form the bulk of the modern meta, so it is probably a good sideboard card, but could be main-worthy, depending your local meta.

My 11 enchantments are the main sources of what I use to power up my cards. I've playtested this deck probably over 200 hundred times. I have a decent balance of token producers as well as enchantments. I've tried having less, but what happened was I didn't draw them in time. If you disagree with me, what would you have me replace them with? And I know I will never use Blade Splicer . It simply does not match with the flow of this deck. I would much rather have a Spectral Procession or even a Glorious Anthem than Blade Splicer , because both of these are far more useful for this deck.

You said you were looking for things to take out. ("Path to Exile is definitely something I will consider though...but what would I replace it for? I also want to find a place for Signal Pest if at all possible. Any suggestions?")

If you disagree with my suggestion, feel free not to use it. it is after all, your deck, not mine.

I know what I said. And I appreciate any suggestions you all offer me, but at the same time I know what cards would mess up the flow of my deck. Path to Exile is an amazing card, but it's useless to me unless someone has something that I would want to exile, while if i got, say Intangible Virtue , then I could use it immediately. I have decided to take out 1 land and only have 2 Glorious Anthem s for 2 Signal Pest s. I'd appreciate any criticism you can offer me.

Another thing I am considering is getting rid of card:Conqueror's Pledge and card:Nomads' Assembly for two more signal pests.

Twilight Drover , Mikaeus, the Lunarch might be worth considering although the drover is probably a bit slower than you are looking for. Mikaeus gives everyone multiple +1+1 counters.

Elspeth Tirel was the best card in my deck before cycling out of standard. Generally gain bunch of life 5th turn, followed by non token board wipe and swing for the win on the 6th.

I, myself would run Martial Coup in sb over the pledge and assembly since it still gives you 4 tokens at the same 6 mana, but also destroys other tokens unlike Hour of Reckoning at 7. With an enchantment on the field that is usually game right there. Of course it should be played after an all out attack so they take some damage before wiping the board.

Hour of Reckoning 's convoke cost allows me to play it by turn 3 sometimes. And by turn 7 my duels always end, and for Martial Coup to work I need to put 7 mana into it. And I used to love Elspeth Tirel until I read more into it. It's +2 and -2 abilities are amazing, but simply not worth the mana I'm afraid. And it's -5 ability would destroy all of my Honor of the Pure s, Intangible Virtue s, etc. Plus I kept finding I would never use her whenever I drew her. (I used to run Elspeth Tirel and Ajani Goldmane ) I like Mikaeus, the Lunarch , but I'm not sure I want to put him in my deck though. And Twilight Drover is simply too slow for my tastes. I'm very picky about what I put in my deck at this point I'm afraid. I believe it's reaching its finishing stages. I appreciate all the suggestions though, especially since you all take the time to look at and comment on my deck.

I'm a huge fan of tokens lists. If played right, they can DESTROY and opponent and become really overwhelming. this list needs a few things though. here's what I suggest:

-4 Gather the Townsfolk , -2 Glorious Anthem , -1 Shrine of Loyal Legions , -8 Plains

+4 Lingering Souls , +3 Elspeth, Knight-Errant , +2 Godless Shrine , +6 Fetch lands that grab Plains

also try to find room for a playset of Path to Exile to get rid of any big issue creatures

check out my modern Jund list Lion's Jund (rate/fix pls)

I'm curious as to why you say to get rid of all those cards. Gather the Townsfolk , Glorious Anthem , Shrine of Loyal Legions are all cards I rely on in my dueling. And this is a semi-budget deck, so no Godless Shrine I'm afraid. And Elspeth Tirel is too slow for me. I'll check out your deck though.

Sorry if im just re-suggesting this but why no Elspeth Tirel

+1 for Elspeth Tirel , I don't know how many times she saved the day in my token deck. If you're winning, she gives you life. If you're losing she gives you token or mass removal the 2nd turn after playing her.

She is at least a 5 mana for 3 tokens and another 3 the next turn if you are in deep shit. :)

Crusade may be another option. It is cheaper (mana cost) then Glorious Anthem .

Timely Reinforcements against aggro deck might be great too. A good card for the sideboard.

Promise of Bunrei against deck with a lot of removal.

Personally, I'd put Midnight Haunting instead of Raise the Alarm . Sometimes flying tokens makes a really big difference.

I have looked over your deck a couple of times, and doing so inspired me to change out Precinct Captain for Gather the Townsfolk in my own deck. Also I noticed you decided to put card:Conqueror's Pledge in your sideboard rather then Increasing Devotion . So I was wondering what was the deciding factor of using card:Conqueror's Pledge?

For me the deciding factor of card:Conqueror's Pledge over Increasing Devotion was the extra token card. Increasing Devotion 's flashback cost was simply too high for it to have ever been a use. In fact that's actually why I got rid of card:Conqueror's Pledge even. I found that I didn't use it much. So I swapped out card:Conqueror's Pledge for Signal Pest and found my deck was much faster because of this.

Suckmydickimashark and Romaky, I decided against Elspeth Tirel for several reasons. The main reason being that I kept finding that she was simply too slow for my tastes. And I will consider Crusade , although it does benefit other white creatures, something I don't particularly like. Although i think i will replace it for Glorious Anthem , thanks. I used to have Timely Reinforcements , but it just didn't seem to fit the flow of my deck very well. And Promise of Bunrei doesn't work for me because tokens do not go to the grave. And I personally happen to hate Midnight Haunting . I don't know why. It's a personal thing I guess. It just irks me that I'm paying 3 mana for 2 spirits, when if I had drawn Spectral Procession instead, then I would have 3. So I replaced Midnight Haunting with some more Signal Pest s.

One note, you are mistaken on tokens not working with Promise of Bunrei . Tokens do go to the graveyard and are then removed from the game entirely. This is why some cards specify 'non-token' when it refers to creatures dying.

UndeadUnx says... #22

I can confirm what Dritz says, tokens do go to the graveyard, they just disappear shortly afterwards.

Hmm..I still don't like the fact that the spirits produced are colorless. I'll sideboard it for now though, thanks. And thanks for clearing the graveyard thing up.

Romaky I have discovered that Crusade is not legal in modern. Thanks for the suggestion, but I'll keep Glorious Anthem
