Make this standard. I've played a deck with 2 or 3 cards that aren't in standard in a modern tournament, I went 0-4. And if you focus on Scavenge, you should have 2 or 3 of Varolz, not 1. Could be a great deck, needs a few revisions. Maybe try the T1 Elvish Mystic, T2 Dreg Mangler idea? That's always good.

Yeah I've seen some Modern builds and I definitely would get stomped especially with an almost standard build. There's just a certain style I guess I go for. You'd have to look at my other decks to see what I'm saying. I really appreciate the feedback and I'll take it into consideration. Thanks.

Spiritmonger is not legal in Modern anyways.

Not yet. Isn't getting reprinted with Conspiracy?

I have to agree with pantseater on this one. You run so little cards that make this Modern Effective, so just make this standard. If I were you, I would rather run a pretty good Standard deck (which this will be if you make it standard) rather then a mediocre Modern deck.

Also, Conspiracy isn't a Modern Legal set. So Spiritmonger being in conspiracy doesn't make it Modern Legal.

+1 I love the golgari trolls!

A Golgari Charm or 2 wound't hurt I reckon, considering you got some key creatures to keep alive, and its amazingness (the charm) at slaying anoying tokens and controlling enchantment, which RTR has in good amounts.

I have a really similar deck, lotleth train, though it is more modern then block, it you feel like it, give it a check and tell me what you think!

I know. It's the only protection I can offer this deck. Any ideas on what to take out?

I think Drown in Filth is not optimal in the sense that you have 22 lands and nothing to bring them back if drown works well. In any case, its not such a fantastic removal, except in situation where your up against indestructible creatures. In that optic, you can put the Golgari Charm in their stead. The filth can stay in your sideboard if the need arises ;)

That's a good point. I mostly had it in there for more self-mill. What do you think of the lacking monocolored cards?

Considering you got 4 Golgari Guildgate and 4 Overgrown Tomb, your mana base is pretty dual, so I don't think the amount of gold cards are a problem at all.

Plus, in RtR block, having a lot of gold creature protect from Ultimate Price, which even got reprinted in DoT.

Right. I own an Izzet deck that is gold heavy but I never seemed to have mana problems but I get told that a lot. Sorry I haven't criticized your decks. I am unfamiliar with EDH/Commander although I always wanted to try it.

Its fine, take your time you'll do it someday ;)

If you feel like you own me some critics, I still got a few 60 cards decks you may check out, but I don't mind really. If you have any other question about any other decks, just ask me mate!
