Sideboard

The store owner at my lgs agreed to hold pauper tournaments on sunday afternoons, but only if I could make 5 $10 budget decks complete with a sideboard that captures the essence of each color. The plan was to have a 3 round swiss with a purchased booster pack as the fee, and if you wanted to rent a deck it would cost you an additional $1. If you wanted to buy it, the deck would be $15. So I got to brewing.

Introducing the Mono-Green version of my $10 budget series! Fill the board with tokens and give your opponents nightmares when Kavu Primarch or Emperor Crocodile hit the table. It may not be close to tier 1, but it's fun to play and has pretty good matchups.

Please share this deck and business plan with your lgs. As a community it's important to spur the growth of the format and hope that one day Wizards might actually pay attention to it.

Updates Add

After an off week for my lgs sunday pauper event I've revisited what went wrong with the deck. My initial thoughts were to add Gladecover Scout for a much needed one drop and pump it with Might of the Masses, but that was too cute.

With EMA downshifting Emperor Crocodile there is an additional huge threat besides Scion of the Wild. Adding Elvish Mystic provided that needed one drop, as well as allowing the deck to ramp into a turn 2 Scion and do crazy things. Hopefully the price tag comes down on the crocodile, if not I'm probably going to have to replace Young Wolf with Blisterpod.
