Swarmyard deck, focusing on Rats. Specifically Rat Ninjas.

This is the first of four Swarmyard brews I have been looking at.

Discard theme to control your opponent's hand. Ninjutsu lets you abuse ETB effects on creatures like Ravenous Rats and Chittering Rats .

The best Ninjutsu enabler will be Typhoid Rats . Infiltration Lens can be used for the ETB effect Rats to hopefully enable some Ninjutsu, but that wasn't working out as well. So your best bet is to swing with enough to get one through, regenerate anything that was blocked that you want to save, and Ninjutsu in.

Black Cat is the only non-Rat creature, but it performs better than Drainpipe Vermin . Less harsh color restrictions, random discard, and less mana you have to hold open. The one advantage of Drainpipe Vermin is being able to use Swarmyard to sort of control when it dies. Not very useful if they kill it with an empty hand.

Since this Swarmyard deck is just Rats, some Rat tribal is possible. The only card worth considering is probably Marrow-Gnawer. Since it is a discard deck, Nezumi Shortfang can also be used (Instant speed discard!) to get a The Rack effect going. Oddly enough, it is probably more useful as an Instant speed discard effect.

Might need to cut some colorless lands in favor of more Black sources. Or just replace some swamps with more Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
