card:Yavimaya's Embrace doesn't seem necessary.

A good Eldrazi ramp deck can be achieved with Eldrazi Temple .

January 8, 2012 6:46 p.m.

It's not really an Eldrazi deck. It's just a "Pull out huge creatures quickly by massively putting mana on the field fast" deck. It's similar to the deck Kiora runs on Magic 2012, except I changed it up more to my liking.

card:Yavimaya's Embrace is good cause it steals those annoying cards like Blightsteel Colossus and pumps them up and gives trample, while effectively stealing a blocker (Yes, I know it has trample already, was just trying to prove a point).

The idea of a ramp deck is to field large creatures quickly, which should ideally lead to you having a great board presence earlier on. card:Yavimaya's Embrace is expensive, and the creatures you would make best use of it on are not going to come out until after your field is already established.

Hmmm alright. What should I replace it with then?

Something like Rampant Growth , Cultivate , Harrow , or Noble Hierarch .

Alright. Thanks for the advice =)

Inspired by the Kiora deck from MTG 2012?

Got that right! =D Was wondering if someone would notice that :3

Just a suggestion, but you should find room for an Azusa, Lost but SeekingMTG Card: Azusa, Lost but Seeking. She would work great along with Primeval TitanMTG Card: Primeval Titan.

March 8, 2012 11:31 p.m.

Hmmm.....what would you suggest I take out for one of them?

March 8, 2012 11:35 p.m.

gormak says... #11

You could take out an ExploreMTG Card: Explore, even though you don't get to draw a card and it costs 1 less mana, Azusa, Lost but SeekingMTG Card: Azusa, Lost but Seeking gives you the ability to play 2 extra lands per turn along with your usual 1 land per turn. So as long as she's on the field, you would be building up 3 mana per turn as opposed to 1 from ExploreMTG Card: Explore.

March 9, 2012 12:19 a.m.

Hmmm true, but that's only if she isn't targeted with a Go for the ThroatMTG Card: Go for the Throat or Oblivion RingMTG Card: Oblivion Ring. I was thinking a CultivateMTG Card: Cultivate could be substituted.

It could work.

Have you considered replacing the Llanowar ElvesMTG Card: Llanowar Elves with Overgrown BattlementMTG Card: Overgrown Battlements? They can ramp more (after the first turn) and are more resistant to damage-based removal.

I would suggest using Hinterland HarborMTG Card: Hinterland Harbor or any blue/green dual lands actually especially since you have quite a few cards that require 2 or more of a specific colored mana and this will help alot. Primeval titan can search for those by the way. It shouldn't hurt you at all. Also, you could consider Alchemist's RefugeMTG Card: Alchemist's Refuge so you can save your mana for counterspells on their turn and if you don't need to use them you can cast your cultivates or creatures or whatnot at the end of their turn.

Also....just a quick question...why did you make this legacy instead of modern. The only legacy card in here is Aether Mutation. You could probably find a decent replacement for the card so you can make it modern. I don't know...just a thought

May 11, 2012 2:16 p.m.

You might try dropping some of the blue and taking an elf ball approach (using tons of mana-producing elves to ramp into Eldrazi and other big creatures). Using blue for control slows down the deck and means you can't ramp as much.

May 11, 2012 2:20 p.m.

@Arachnarchist: Might consider it, but that is only good if you get more than one out. Does seem good though, so will take it into consideration.

@heinm1989: I might consider it. It probably would help, unless of course, all I draw are the dual lands ._. As far as the format, AEther MutationMTG Card: AEther Mutation is an amazing card. Bounce back their big bad creature and get some blockers. "Okay you PolymorphMTG Card: Polymorph for Blightsteel ColossusMTG Card: Blightsteel Colossus? I use AEther MutationMTG Card: AEther Mutation to bounce it back and gain 11 tokens."

@Epochalyptik: The control helps a lot with the deck. RedirectMTG Card: Redirect can help a lot more than one would think. TwincastMTG Card: Twincast also helps ramping.

You could possibly add in Ghostly FlickerMTG Card: Ghostly Flicker for the ETB land effects. Just a thought.

May 14, 2012 11:09 a.m.

That does sound nice :3 I can flicker out Primeval TitanMTG Card: Primeval Titan and get two more lands

May 14, 2012 1:09 p.m.

I disagree with the inclusion of Ghostly FlickerMTG Card: Ghostly Flicker. The only cards in the deck that really benefit from it are Coiling OracleMTG Card: Coiling Oracle and Primeval TitanMTG Card: Primeval Titan. You might just replace it with more ramp.

I still find myself questioning the value of the blue in this deck. Half of your setup seems to be reminiscent of Eldrazi Ramp from the last incarnation of Standard. You might find that dropping the blue (as you have little control if any in the deck as of right now) will speed it up and let you drop the larger creatures much sooner.

May 18, 2012 11:27 p.m.

I've been test playing the deck against others, and that card has saved my creatures on a few occasions.

The blue has been very helpful. PonderMTG Card: Ponder has been saving me left and right with deck setup. TwincastMTG Card: Twincast doubled the effects of AEther MutationMTG Card: AEther Mutation for board control, as well as CultivateMTG Card: Cultivate more lands. The blue is more helpful than you'd think.

May 18, 2012 11:35 p.m.

Do you think another removal card like Beast WithinMTG Card: Beast Within would be more effective than AEther MutationMTG Card: AEther Mutation? A five-drop that bounces a creature and gives its controller a small army of 1/1s doesn't seem ideal if you need to use it to keep your opponent's creatures at bay and it doesn't seem like the kind of thing you'll want to cast on your own creatures.

May 18, 2012 11:44 p.m.

Why not? Bounce back Titan for 6 tokens, which work as stallers and then replay Titan for two more lands. Do the same thing with Ulamog, but instead of 6 you get 11, and instead of lands, you get to destroy a permanent. The only good blocker/staller in the deck while ramping is Overgrown BattlementMTG Card: Overgrown Battlement, which isn't really good. The Mutation adds more stallers to keep me alive so I can ramp out more mana and play more stuff.

Beast WithinMTG Card: Beast Within destroys a permanent yes, but also gives them a 3/3 beast, which can be very bad if I am low on creatures.
