The RU standard 2013 event deck, Sweet Revenge.

Added mainly so I can keep a track of what changes I make to it.

The deck revolves around getting cards with flashback into the graveyard, getting a Burning Vengeance into play and then playing cards from the graveyard for effects and added damage.

I think the goal is to start with a hand containing a Burning Vengeance, assorted cheap burn and land. Use the burn to keep the table clear until you get Burning Vengeance on the table, pick up and use blue draw to sort your cards with flashback into the graveyard, and then start hammering the opponent.

I picked this up because I was interested in playing red burn again, but a lot of this deck doesn't seem to work out for me. I don't feel like red burn works well if you have to start hitting mid-to-late game (as you would with this two phase strategy), and I don't feel like a single Burning Vengeance is enough of a threat on it's on. I like the idea of pairing red burn with blue draw to keep the threats coming, but it kind of seems like there's too much drawing and not enough early pressure. I think it needs to tip either more towards constant red burn beatdown using the occasional blue draw to reload, or to have a better system in place for providing defenders while digging for a later game burn assault.
