You might want to go America instead of Dega. Treasure Cruise is much better in the deck than Bump in the Night

Also Eidolon of the Great Revel > Vexing Devil

Kjartan I see Eidolon of the Great Revel played a lot in modern burn decks, but honestly I don't get the idea, since your spells themselves do not cost more than 3 mana. therefore it will always deal it's damage to yourself as well, right?

I understand your concern on the matter, but to grasp the meaning of its strength, I will recoment you to look at, and analyze, these 4 factures and way them out them out in relationship to eachother.

First of all, as you mentioned yourself, its drawback - Massive lifeloss.

As you mentioned yourself in your desription, the lifeloss caused by your manabase is worth it for the mana fixing. But Eidolon's ability is meant to do much more damage than a simple shock land, and it will. One single Eidolon will often deal you between 6 and 8 damage, and that is a lot if you ask me, but is it enough to make its grand ability not worth it?

Secondly, coparing it to Vexing Devil

Vexing Devil well always make the worst option for you, as it is the opponents choice as therefore consicuently the worst mode optional which will resolve off its otherwise strong ability. Other than that it will never deal as much much damage to your opponent as Eidolon of the Great Revel will, and is easilly taken care of, by the massive amount of burn spells in the current meta...

Which brings us to the third facture - How do they fit the meta:

Eidolon of the Great Revel is the most powerful option for cheap damage in the mata, as it suckerpunches the current delver deck to pieces. There are not a lot of spells with a cost higher than 2 in the meta, and even fewer of cause with a cost over three. Eidolon will punish your opponent just as much as you, and since you play as fast a deck as you do, it might be to your benefit over your opponents. And with the best deck in modern being a tempo-deck witch tries to cast 2-3 cheap spells each turn, it might easilly do even better.

Last facture is in the shortence of the word a "fact":

Eidolon of the Great Revel is the card that made burn teir 1 in modern (for the reasons already stated. And is by many players considered the best card in the deck. (not saying than I agree)

Off here, it is all about oppinion what do you think is of cause the most important fcture to include when considering cards to add to YOUR deck. :)

I actually like devil in this deck, it requires them to deal with it. Whether that be by 4 life or removal. A 2/2 eidolon can be blocked and killed safely by a magnitude of early creatures, so it may never actually generate a threat. For the board, I would run Grim Lavamancer

I play plenty of modern, usually eidolon is good for 2-4 DMG. Still decent, but ya devil would be better if he switched to grim lavamancer in the board

Kjartan, I think I get it now. I had the misconception that you'd actually use Eidolon of the Great Revel as a 2 drop, instead of obviously playing it lateron in the game. In best case of course if your opponet has less life than you and your bord is stabilized. Vexing Devil seems like a good card, on the other hand it is within Lightning Bolt range, whereas Eidolon of the Great Revel woul burn your opponent, even if it's burnt away.

You would use it as a 2 drop, as well as leteron in the game (If that should ever happen), the point is that it deals more damage than vexing devel, and is more consistant.

I really like your deck ; ) why dont you play 1 Stomping Ground Main for Destructive Revelry in the sideboard because it hits artifacts and entchantmens. When you want to you can check my Treasure Burn Deck because i play almost the same list. +1

Cut Soulfire Grand Master it is too slow as a two drop that does nothing the turn it drops. Play it in the sideboard. Add the fourth Rift Bolt. Then cut 1 Shard Volley for one Skullcrack, then cut 2 Lightning Helix to go up to 3 Skullcrack.

for someone who is waiting for modern masters 2015 to come out hoping for a Goblin Guide reprint, what card should I play instead as I sit here and hope? Suggestions?

Nixytbird I would suggest something like Vexing Devil in substitution for Goblin Guide. Although he is not ideal, he is still very good in Burn Variants.

Great deck! + 1 from me.Only thing I can say is that I feel like 13 fetches is a bit too many, but if it works it works!

Instead of a Leyline of Sanctity, run Kor Firewalker and possibly a Soulfire Grand Master, if you want to live on the edge.

No point losing a Leyline to other burn decks when Firewalker is just better.

JexInfinite. Although I do appreciate your comment, I have to respectfully disagree... Kor Firewalker is very good, yes, but the compared to Leyline of Sanctity there just isn't any competition. Leyline absolutely hoses other burn decks, where as kor only slows them down. I have played many burn mirror matches and won because even though my opponent had a Kor Firewalker on the field, I had a leyline and they could not touch me. Similarly, Soulfire Grand Master seems good at first, but 90% of the time it is just a 2/2 that does nothing the turn it is played and is usually killed before my next turn.

When it comes down to it, if you can win with either, play either.

Leyline of Sanctity is not even half as good as Kor Firewalker in the burn mirror.

Leyline will be removed right away, and can't be a beatdown.
