argj duress is an okay budget replacement, but Thoughtseize is way better. the ability to get rid of anything with no restrictions (other than land) in any given game is so valuable. the life loss is worth it, and in modern you find yourself using your life total as a resource more often than not. if you have not tried to play with Thoughtseize, i (as well as any seasoned modern player) highly recommend that you try it out.

Thanks for taking the time to explain! I will definitely get me a set of those.

sweet list that I might try in modern myself (if my wallet cooperates). just a question: are you running Seal of Fire and Tarfire to grow your goyfs? if I recall correctly, you previously had Grim Flayer to take advantage of delirium.

thanks

Yeah, they're mostly there for goyf. The list can support the two shock effects and getting the rarest card type into the deck along with more reach seemed right for me. You could certainly replace them as they're the worst cards in the deck. I haven't actually played with the deck recently so I don't know exactly how it stacks up at the moment.

Why Tarfire instead of another burn option? I know you're maxed out on lighting bolts, but if just burning the player isn't good enough (Bump in the Night, Lava Spike) and Rift Bolt is too slow, what about Forked Bolt? It allows you to do the same thing as Tarfire, but also offers the option of taking out a creature with one toughness and also hitting a player for one, or killing two 1/1 creatures at the cost of being a sorcery. Maybe take it out and add in another Seal of Fire because of the revolt trigger? Thoughts? +1

Deck is solid. I love the Seal of Fire in the main board. Consider adding in an artifact and a planeswalker for the Tarmogoyf, maybe even at 1. Mishra's Bauble, Liliana, the Last Hope, and Liliana of the Veil are the first 3 cards I would consider. I run a 4 color Burn list myself that is not the normal list for the archetype so I can really respect what you are doing here. Maybe run the Kolaghan's Command in the main deck somewhere. Claim//Fame is not optimal in the main. I would normally say something about Swifty being at 3 and not 4 but with you running mainly removal in the instant slots I can understand it at 3. Be really careful with how you sequence your fetch lands. Bad sequencing has lost me a few games before as well.

This is the 4 color Burn list I mentioned. It is 5 colors sometimes post board if the Destructive Revelry comes in.The Colors Burn
