It all started when Snapcaster Mage looking snappy with his wife Monastery Swiftspear started eyeing up Delver of Secrets
, who wanted to delve into more than just secrets ad his girlfriend Young Pyromancer, who had a fiery passion for more than instants and sorceries. In the end it got a little too kinky and a tun of elementals joined the mingle, Snapcaster Mage was Dismembered and Monastery Swiftspear ended up with a face that looked like the promo Serum Visions

I'm a fan of the old-school Delver decks. It's really a simple deck to pilot once you get to know it. Cards like Electrolyze and Forked Bolt help you against the token matchup this deck has trouble dealing with.

On the other hand Lightning Bolt and Dismember will deal with the bigger creatures.

As given Mana Leak, Remand, Spell Snare, and Spell Snare will counter most things you en*counter*With the other spells, Gitaxian Probe let's you see your opponent's hand and what you need to counter, Vapor Snag let's you send creatures back into your opponents hand to counter later and let your own creatures swing in for attack, and Serum Visions provides draw and scry that you need to ensure success.

With the creature, the fun only continues. Young Pyromancer makes tokens to create blockers while you swing in. Delver of Secrets  , with a bit of luck, might as well be a flying Wild Nacatl . Monastery Swiftspear will pummel your enemy into the ground and can get bigger in an instant (or sorcery). And lastly, Snapcaster Mage will only make your spells double the fun by turning your graveyard into a database of spells you can pick and choose at your moments notice.

At the end of the day, it's almost inarguable that Delver Decks have seen better days. I however think that Delver provides a unique and fun play-style. With the right player this can be piloted to victory and placement in the winners table.

I've been playing Delver for a long time, maybe a year or more. I've had ups and downs with the deck, but recently I've been an interesting success with this deck. With recent bannings and new decks sprouting up I genuinely think that delver can rise from the ashes, like a Snapcaster Mage's spell and make a dent in Modern.

I am in no way, an expert with Delver decks, or in modern to begin with. This deck is where it is because of suggestions and criticism. Tell me where I have it wrong and suggest revisions; I'll be sure to check out some of your decks if you do.
