Sideboard

a bit of a wacky idea i built in high school and have been optimising since. this is not a competitive deck but it is a lot of fun and when piloted properly can win matches against tier 1 decks. the basic idea is to apply pressure on multiple fronts; life total and mill. this can cause opponents to become confused about which to defend against and make a misplay, which is fatal against tempo strategies in general.

since the addition of force of negation the strategy has become significantly stronger. when you are tapped low on turn 4 after equipping a sword it helps protect the creature holding it from removal, and in post sideboard games, protects the sword itself from artifact hate your opponent tries to play while you are tapped out.

to make it a little more budget friendly, expensive lands can be swapped for islands, v clique swapped for another copy of a sideboard card, force of negation swapped for Disrupting Shoal and surgical swapped for Faerie Macabre
