I like this deck a lot. But here are a few more things I would add. March is just so you don't have to spend U each time for sydri's first ability. Artifact deck running white without sfm is blasphemous to me. Then of course you want b-skull to do lots of damage. The jitte is awesome. Elesh is just that good, also acts as a wipe/kill spell with march and sydri's first ability. The forge because indestructible artifacts, the disk as a reset button. Cannonist is going to hurt a lot of decks at times, slowing them down. Can't forget the tron lands. Also, since this is competitive, you need atleast one of the edlrazi's like ulamog or kozilek, graveyard recursion with them is important.

gufymike - Ethersworn Canonist and Darksteel Forge were already in the deck so I'm with you there. I did seriously consider March of the Machines , but I'm not sold on it as I also want to have Mycosynth Lattice . If you have both on the field, then you would blow up all your lands as soon as they entered the battlefield. I made a conscious decision not to include any equipment in the deck, and while I would make a Umezawa's Jitte exception, I'm not going to include Stoneforge Mystic for only 1-2 equipments. An eldrazi is probably also in the running for the deck, idk which one though. I did consider the Urza lands, and I'll definitely see where I can fit them in. I'll probably find a place for Nevinyrral's Disk and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite , idk just where yet.
Any advice on what cards I should cut?
October 25, 2013 10:52 a.m.
probably Divinity of Pride and Phylactery Lich I can see why you have them in the deck, but at the same time I don't see them that beneficial to the deck as a whole. They are just a couple bombs in this deck, not truly synergestic with it as a whole.
October 25, 2013 10:58 a.m.
gufymike - I thought that Divinity of Pride might not make the cut, so that's fine. I'm also ok with Phylactery Lich , mainly because odds are I'm not going to have it out when it matters. How do these swaps sound:
Divinity of Pride -> Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite
Phylactery Lich -> Kozilek, Butcher of Truth /Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre
October 25, 2013 11:07 a.m.
gufymike - also I just realized I'm running 3 equipments: Lightning Greaves , Swiftfoot Boots , and Illusionist's Bracers . Are 4-5 Equipments enough to run a Stoneforge Mystic ?
October 25, 2013 11:11 a.m.
I would argue, yes. Tutors are always good to have, regardless. Speaking of which,
I would consider at the very least Demonic Tutor there are others that I might consider, but to what to cut I'm at a lost so going to leave them here.

redrocketrobot - Staff of Domination is not on the list of banned cards in EDH, you can double check here.

yes, just barely because of your mana rocks. Tangent of 1: Though I might still go up to 35, well 36, for the urza lands. and you probably want to included Land Tax and Reliquary Tower or Spellbook and Necropotence / Library of Leng . For card draw, something it appears you're lacking and will need.
Enlightened Tutor , Maze of Ith (Chromatic Lantern will let this tap for mana when you need it), Duplicant removes pesky annoyances. It's a great kill spell more than a clone. Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre is important to play for graveyard recursion.
As for what to remove, playtest it and find what's underwhelming.
October 29, 2013 10:23 a.m.
Something I find strong with her is Training Grounds making basalt monolith a creature makes it untapped for 1the so you net infinite mana. Also Voltaic Construct and Gilded Lotus as a creature get you infinite colored mana.

Hey man, like what you want to achieve with the deck but if you wish to be competitive I think you really have to fix some things up. Since you are going for something more controlish rather then aggro you are going to need cards to defend your game enders. Which means you guessed it counterspells so things like Stoic Rebuttal , Counterspell , Cryptic Command , Dimir Charm , Countersquall will go a long way helping you with the deck. Other cards I think you are missing out on are Blightsteel Colossus , Etched Champion , Trinket Mage , Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and Dispatch , So my suggestions for changing the deck so far would be to do the following:
out 14
myr turbine, esper charm, obelisk of esper, illusionist's bracers, palladium myr. gold myr, silver myr, sphinx summoner and sphinx of steel wind, reshape, soulscour, razor hippogriff, frantic search. spine of ish sah
for
thirst for knowledge, phyrexian revoker, hex parasite, duplicant, spellskite, pithing needle, trinket mage, cryptic command, stoic rebuttal, counterspell, tezzeret agent of bolas. blightsteel colossus. solemn simulacrum, wurmcoil engine.
This will make your deck a lot more competitive and more consistent with your manabase. This means if you don't want to go full blown competitive then you can consider the cards I thought should be cut and take some of the less painful cards from the pool I suggested for substitutions.

I feel I have a pretty competitive deck with these colors. Check it out. It is a different approach, but I am not a huge fan of her for your general. WUB WUB Deck
I think the others have made some very good suggestions. I really think you could use at least 8-10 or more counters.

Didgeridooda - just so you know, the deck you linked to isn't your deck. You might want to double check on what the url says your deck's name is.

With that general, the best way I see using her is to control your opponents artifacts. Kill artifact lands, you could zap their other small useful ones too. I would think if you were using it for you, you would use things like Spine of Ish Sah
, and other etb artifacts. Venser would be awesome with those. Maybe a couple more tutors.
As I think of it a little more, this general might work out alright. I will look for more cards if you want me to suggest more.
November 3, 2013 12:49 a.m.
Didgeridooda - I had Spine of Ish Sah in here before but I was underwhelmed by it. That was just in playtesting though. I had Myr Landshaper in an earlier version of the deck since he turns lands into artifacts which I can then zap with Sydri, Galvanic Genius , but I didn't really like it. If you have any other suggestions please let me know!

That general is kinda new to me, I was just trying to think of ways to maximize her abilities. That Myr Landshaper
is gold in this deck. I will look at it a little more later, and give you some more precise suggestions.

I can see that you're kind of high on Myr Landshaper in here but I myself prefer Liquimetal Coating as it's not a creature and less vulnerable to board wipes. Also its one cheaper for any permanent rather than just land. Otherwise I would suggest adding Memnarch and removing Filigree Angel . I have my own Sydri deck and playtesting that I've come to a lot of the same conclusions you have as far as the list goes! Good on ya

Colossus of Akros ? Anyone? Basically, with the large amounts of ramp, it's a 20/20 Trample Indestructible Deathtouch Lifelink.
November 9, 2013 7:45 a.m.
thedoctor5445 - I thought about Colossus of Akros , but there are better ways to spend 20 mana than casting, monstrosity, and lifelink/deathtouching it. It's not better than Blightsteel Colossus or Wurmcoil Engine . I just don't think he's right for this deck. Thanks for commenting! Do you have any other suggestions?

It needs more ways of getting what you need out faster. Mystical Tutor Personal Tutor Vampiric Tutor You need more counterspells. Mana rocks are cute but with merciless eviction being a thing I have found myself using less. And yes....that card is your worst enemy thus counterspells. You have a lot of redundancies which of course is always good for competitive play yet I feel like the redundancies you're using are ineffective.

I feel Grand Architect , Sculpting Steel , and Steel Overseer would be good in this deck.

why Crucible of Worlds ? You don't have fetch lands to ramp and the only sac land you have is Buried Ruin .

I like it a lot. You're well on your way to a very competitive Esper Deck. Check out my Grixis one. http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/a-nephallian-nursery-rhyme/ All these new commanders are totally awesome.
