I think I just fundamentally misunderstood the point of what was going on here. It's a fairly solid list regardless.

it's not in spirit of the game. just learn better strategies or make better card choices (not expensive, always) So Lame!

My group is very close so we play often. Building a deck that is hard to beat is one thing i suppose. Building a deck that hasn't lost in a month is another. I would normally just tell them to suck it up and deal with it but the guy that taught me magic was even getting visibly upset with the deck. This list will still be here and will be updated and maybe one day sydri will return. Shes the general we deserve, just not the general we need right now

what a pain Emory just keep the deck together, build another one that is friendly for your playgroup (i likey the direction Jenara, Asura of War is going) until they overcome that deck then bring her out when your playgroup gets some salt because that's what i'd do and take pride in the fact you have built a really solid esper strat

but i bet you love that when you said "i'm gonna build sydri" your group gave you a rather lackluster look. never again will they underestimate Galvanic Alchemy!!!

Lmao best choice ever but, it is commendable that Emory is willing to adapt and change his deck because he respects them. Friendship and having fun is more important in the end and for that, i'd play with you and your group anyday.

And yes, I agree- EDH is a game where stupid things happen. Run boardwipes or go home. Every deck I've seen has at least 20 cards of removal, or doesn't need removal because of their boardstates (cite my nigh-enchantments only Oloro deck :D).

And even still, I've kept dying to a Nicol Bolas that I just didn't have the Hex Parasite or creatures for. Run removal and counterspells.

i find it really difficult to be prepared for every deck i face and end up being chewed up pretty badly in certain match-ups. I don't get all bent out of shape and petition a ban of a certain deck in my cardshop and I'm not really that concerned about losing so, i feel like some of the others have said in here "tough shit'' and "suck it up princess" but Emory did put the deck back together and told them to live with it lol

I use Liquimetal Coating in my list. Using it on enemy annoying lands than annimating them with sydri = psuedo land denial.

I considered that card but almost immediately took it out of my list. In my play group it was too obvious

This is the best Sydri deck I have seen so far the multiple win scenarios are fantastic.

Have you considered adding Nevinyrral's Disk to combo with Darksteel Forge and Mycosynth Lattice ?

Also as previously mentioned by Erisium adding any artifact that taps for 3 such as Basalt Monolith can be be turned into an infinite beast with Umbral Mantle seems like a winner to me

Plus an artifact tapping for 3 would provide a base for infinite mana by simply adding Voltaic Construct or Rings of Brighthearth allowing an easy win with Exsanguinate or Debt to the Deathless

Cryptos I am so glad to hear that my sydri has inspired you. I hope to one day see it at the top of the list. I had considered the disk and have been battling back and forth with it for a while. I have played using it and have had mixed emotions on using that combo. I do appreciate the feedback. The mantle upon original testing did marginally well. It may find its way back in as well as the monolith. Now go make a sydri deck and join the club:P welcome to using a "meh" commander
