Why not? He limits my opponents on control, burn and removal, and ups my devotion count. Perfect to hold down the fort

I liked this deck better when you had Axebane Guardian and Worldspine Wurm . I think you're over-thinking things.

I am going to do some more playtests with my Golgari Counterspam and see how it does now with your changes. I too lost heavily to azorius control over the weekend, but stomped a RDW, an Elspeth control, and a Jund Aggro (that was realllly close though).
I like the evolution of this deck and look forward to playing it again!

First game: You got manascrewed, which is incredibly odd for this deck. I won.
Second game: Started off slow for both of us. Turn 4 you threw out an Arbor Colossus , and the pressure was on. Turn 7, you had Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx out and I couldn't keep up with your creature spam. You win
Third game: Turn 3 you had a Mana Bloom with 2 counters on it, an Elvish Mystic , 2 forests, and a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and played a Garruk, Caller of Beasts and used his -3 ability to put out a Colossus of Akros . Impressive turn 3 drop! On turn 7 you almost won, but my Nylea, God of the Hunt allowed me to absorb enough damage to survive with 3 life, and then I turned around and killed you on my turn with enough trample damage. VERY close game though and I thought I was going to lose for sure.
Fourth game: Two Mistcutter Hydra out from you by turn 3, creating a decent threat. My Experiment One gave me the power to stop you from attacking, but letting you drop in Arbor Colossus , but on my turn I dropped a Nylea, God of the Hunt as a creature. At the beginning of your turn I managed to get a Golgari Charm out to clear out your [elvish mystic]]s and make the board look good in my favor, and I successfully did more than enough trample damage to kill you on turn 7.
I have found a couple things I might suggest for you. I would suggest sideboarding the 2x Bow of Nylea and 3x Witchstalker . To replace the Witchstalker in the mainboard add 4x Fog . It seems that with a [[fog] you could simply shut down the only deckstyle that seems to beat yours readily (extreme aggro). More than once in the games we played if you had a Fog you would have ruined my day. I would also switch the Clan Defiance to mainboard in exchange for the Flesh / Blood , as your ramp will most certainly make the Clan Defiance a win condition.
TLDR:
- Move 3x Witchstalker to sideboard
- Move 3x Fog to mainboard, add a fourth.
- Move 2x Flesh / Blood to sideboard, ditch the third.
- Move 2x Clan Defiance to mainboard, add a third.
- Eliminate 2x Bow of Nylea

@Drfrozenfire - your playtest was flawed as Garruk's -3 ability can only be used to put green creatures on the field, and sadly the colossus of akros is not green.

Oh shit my bad. I guess it would have been much less of a close game. To that end, then I might suggest adding back in a couple Worldspine Wurm

Drfrozenfire good call on a lot of those suggestions, I'll make the changes right away. Amd Worldspine Wurm is definitely gonna replace Colossus of Akros , I never really could play him and attack early game, whereas Worldspine Wurm can come out with garruk, and attack next turn for free.
Good catch on that actiontech!

I will go ahead and playtest this with the current setup and give you some feedback, but I think this might be the final product!
You should go to my thread Crazy Counter Spam and let me know how your playtests against mine work out and if you have any suggestions.

Thanks Drfrozenfire, you've certainly been a big help. If you don't mind checking out And the Earth Shall be Covered in Flames!!! I could use some advice, I'm trying to make it more competitive for a friend if mine who's new to the format.

i built this deck to play around, and liked it a lot. i played sunday standard today with pretty much this deck, but i sideboarded Clan Defiance and put the three Witchstalker main board, and i ended up playing blue control decks, that couldn't touch this. with the crazy ramp and Garruk, Caller of Beasts out, it was a blast.

Really impressive deck! +1 :)
I'm trying to make a mono-green-ramp deck myself at the moment, fairly new to both the colour and standard though so any help would be super appreciated! Mono Green Uber Ramp!

I swear if one more person says that I'll kill you all hahaha jk, but I really do know. I just like the title the way it is.

You may want to consider dropping the 3x Experiment One (only because i don't see what plays could be made with it), and bring back 2x Sylvan Primordial and add 1x Sylvan Caryatid , then drop the 2x Flesh / Blood from the side and bring back 2x Clan Defiance I say this because i run Clan Defiance in my devo. ramp, and i've made some great game changing plays with it, and I also run Sylvan Primordial and the effect has saved me many a time during FNM, given i tend to play a lot of enchantments and control at FNM, but it may be something to keep in mind, also the extra rainbow mana from Sylvan Caryatid helps out whatever needs an extra color in you're sideboard.

Maindeck Witchstalker? Why? Surely there are better alternatives, that dont rely on your opponent playing black or blue?
