Also nickiru, take a look at my standard deck - Jund Masher. Plenty of people having been telling me its no good. Ive BEEN playing it alot lately and winning. The first night I played I went 3 out of 4. That was WITHOUT the spot removal. It even got called an 'Identity Crisis'. That one was lol. I designed it. I know how it works and it does so perfectly. Im playing my $30 deck and winning against these $100-$200 decks. I just think you might like it.

GlissasTraitor: this is a modern deck. It is saying it ain't legal because i have Wooded Foothills in here. This card is about to be reprinted according to what I have seen so I am just putting it in here. But it is for modern. So none of those cards are modern legal that you suggested, but yes I do get your point. I'll do a search for damage redirection, i can bet there is stuff like that in modern. Thanks for the idea.

I once ran Swerve in here. I may resurrect that, though it does not deal with attacking creatures.

Also stuff like Ghostly Prison could be interesting. Like you suggested, make them pay to attack; which would limit kiki-pod as well, lol. Also token decks. If I had to pick a weakpoint, it would be mass tokens. A prison may help me.

o ok, ill take a peek :D

I am not too xp in standard. I tried it, made an awesome token deck and almost won my tourny where i live, but then cycled out the next week so I only played it once without revisions. I was raging after that investment lol

So i made an oath to stick to non-cycling formats. But I will take a peek and maybe give a suggestion on mana base ey? haha

nickiru good to see I made you laugh. Always glad to make somebody happy. Sorry Im not familiar with Emrakul, the Aeons Torn . But here is a answer for him: Oblivion Stone , Nevinyrral's Disk followed by something like Surgical Extraction or Extirpate . Also Door to Nothingness is a less likely, yet viable answer.

Oh and uh... the mana in my deck SUCKS!!! I dont have the money for better ones yet but its gonna change. Half of the deck wont be standard legal soon anyway so... MODERN! I dont have a modern deck yet anyway.

September 15, 2014 12:32 a.m.

nickiru says... #7

oh it is? no wonder i had a hard time finding it. Tappedout said it was only casual legal. I guess they haven't set it up yet lol. I guess I can consider that one xD

Oh is your standard deck cycling out soon already?! holy crap, I thought cards had a couple years or something.

September 15, 2014 12:35 a.m.

nickiru says... #8

So because of the cycling are you considering going into modern or something?

September 15, 2014 12:36 a.m.

GlissasTraitor says... #9

No. It last 18 months then cycles again. You should get on wizards site. Standard is about to change completely. Its gonna cylce faster. AND they are getting rid of core sets. They will have two story lines per cycle now. And will be running 2 large sets followed by two smaller ones.

Im a legacy guy. Ive been playing for a year now so Im still new but legacy is my favorite. My friends though play it all so Im just trying to expand. I figure if I do then I get to see more decka and play styles and lets be real... who doesnt LOVE building new decks. I have a huge CHEST... like a blanket chest... full of cards that were just given to me. Through this whole year ive only spent about $200 - $250 on cards. If that. I just like building decks. I just made my first EDH deck last week. Havent tested it yet though. Glissa, the Traitor is my commander.

September 15, 2014 12:46 a.m.

I wasnt saying no to getting into modern btw. You seen my modern burn deck.

September 15, 2014 12:49 a.m.

nickiru says... #12

whoa, they seem picky about standard. Yah, I'm gonna stick with modern :D

Ha, I just decided to venture out of modenr so I built a commander deck too just recently. It is My second command with Vorel of the Hull Clade as comm. It is token heavy xD

ahh, well I would consider myself an expert of in modern by now and I like being unconventional, so if you want any thoughts on your modern decks feel free to ask :D

lol, you started 'following me,' what's that mean?

September 15, 2014 12:51 a.m.

We have similar philosophies. You suck at magic unless you can understand it. Following and building somebody else's decks and ideas is stupid. You cant learn anything like that. In the year Ive been playing you are the first to agree with me in this. Im trying new things with my deck. Look at my deck Army of the Zombies for example. That was my first good deck. Nobody around here understood it. Its an esper deck, only Im using creatures as control. Then using my Chandra to triple drop Army of the Damned . 32 zombies? Screw you man is what that says. And I have more than enough removal to get me there. I just recently tore it apart to make it better. Now its Mortuus Vivens. Latin for the walking dead. Read the comment on that deck and youll see how it works. Dead by turn 7 sounds good to me. Oh I cant use my grave? I dont care. Face a wall of 5/5 zombies. Your dying no matter what man. APPLE01DOJ even helped me with an AMAZING side board to further cover my back.

Oh, oh man, preach it. Lay it down GlissasTraitor. I completely agree. I disagree very very strongly with net decking, which is what it is called when people follow a deck around. These are the people who are narrow minded and don't try anything new and spit at what's new and different.

kylothian is my best buddy. me and him both can't stand net decking. Welcome to the club xD, your one of the first I have seen other than my neighbor kyloth who have similar philosophies.

And so I am striving to make something new; it what i do xD

September 15, 2014 1:14 a.m.

nickiru says... #15

o and which deck is it you want me to look at? Mortuus Vivens didn't have chandra in it so I wasn't sure if it was the one you were talking about.

September 15, 2014 1:18 a.m.

Its these type of people that create the decks that are... as you say are being "Net Decked". My downfall is that I lack the knowledge of the game. Like I said Im new. But my decks will speak for them self. Im learning. Ill show you what im capable of when I post my Sliver deck. Also look at Mortuus Vivens. This is my strongest deck as of now. The only help I had on that was the side board. I REALLY need to learn the cards that are available to me.

September 15, 2014 1:23 a.m.

nickiru says... #17

again, preach it brother. Amen to that. It is people like us to create the decks to be net decked. (lol, now I sound like some prideful snot, but you get my point.) (humble myself.... humble....)

lol, yah that is my issue. I literally will do searches through every 'green' card or something massive like that just to help increase my card knowledge and awareness to help generate decks and ideas.

My best two decks are The Ultimate Land Decimator! and this one, Synergic Efficiency. I almost always play control type decks, but the synergy deck was my attempt to get away from control for testing and experimentation.

September 15, 2014 1:28 a.m.

I prefer aggro/control. My favorite combo is Jund. My favorite mono is tied... Green and Black. TTYL Nice to find a rebel on here. ;)

Agreed that netdecking is annoying... making original decks is more fun. Keep up the good work guys!

This deck seems heavily reliant on getting , and the only extremely reliable way to do that is with an urborg. Now, they're legendary so that's a problem. Twilight Mire would be your next best alternative, as it can fix mana for channellers as well as tap for . I'd personally cut blue. Yes, you lose Electrolyze , but is it so important to your deck that it can't function without it? You save yourself from mana inconsistencies and save life, and lose 1 card that you're not even running a full 4 of. There are plenty of things you could replace it with, such as Abrupt Decay or Forked Bolt . I'd probably also add in more birds in place of hierarchs, as birds tap for , which is really helpful here. Is the exalted really THAT important? If so, maybe a 3-3 split. Finally, consider Courser of Kruphix . It's more consistent that oracle of mul daya, and has the same level of synergy, whilst offsetting the life-loss of the insane mana-base.

APPLE01DOJ says... #22

So I did some play testing vs your deck, just to give it an honest run...

Game 1, Liliana of the Veil and an Abrupt Decay was all it took to keep your board clear of the 2x Mul Daya Channelers and single Ob Nixilis, the Fallen your board put up with it's mana rampers. Treetop Village and a late game Phyrexian Obliterator on my end widdled your life down by T8.

Game 2, U ate a Smallpox to get rid of Noble Hierarch while 2x Treetop Village and a Bitterblossom slowly devoured your life. I think the only thing your deck played the entire match beyond the noble was a single Path to Exile . Sat full of a hand of Phyrexian Obliterator and Domri Rade which u couldn't cast.

Game 3. U put up more of a fight with 2 Obliterators and 2 Ob Nixilis, the Fallen able to get on the board. One of the Ob Nixilis, the Fallen even pinged me for 6 and grew to 9/9 thanks to some fetches but quickly ate a Damnation the following turn. Again Treetop Village this time equipped with a Sword of Fire and Ice did the trick.

Of Plague & Persecution my deck if u want to do some of your own play tests.

Advice. Tectonic Edge Ghost Quarter or Fulminator Mage

If u want to play the creatures that u do, I suggest u take a more controlling approach.

Oh and drop Electrolyze for Lightning Bolt . It'll make your deck so much better.

Lastely Y no Godless Shrine ? Wanna cast Obliterator on time but need mana for Path...

Thanks KingSorin

Actually the deck ain't too reliant on urborg. I can usually fetch a couple of blacks while my creatures take care of the rest. Though I am liking your idea of using stuff like Twilight Mire . Actually, I am really liking that land and looked around and saw that there are lands like that for each color combination. hmmm, I'm going to make a mana base using these lands from eventide and shadowmoor and then test it and compare. Of course fetches will still be there, but I think they will compliment each other really well. Thanks for that idea.

Electrolyze is really worth the blue. Plus, it ain't hard to get blue so I am totally fine having it. I honestly would switch to Forked Bolt , but, (sniffle,) it isn't an instant which is so lame. I want a damage devider that is instant and the only other alternative I saw was an x variable card called

Courser of Kruphix used to be in this this deck. That critter is very good, life gain, top deck control, and card advantage. would really like both that and Mul Daya Channelers . But cause of bla and junk, I needed to pick 1. I chose muldaya over kruphix because it can be a powerful 5/5 critter or a 2/2 mega mana ramp which aids in getting all my crap out a lot faster. If when I use the eventide/shadowmoor land base makes my top deck draws my colors really easy, I may switch back to kruphix for the top deck draw and play of a land. TO me though, these both creatures are amazing.

My removal is small and quite variable I know. But it makes my deck rather flexible it seems. Where you suggested Abrupt Decay , I have Qasali Pridemage knock out art/enchtmt while giving exalted. I have crap like Arena , Domri Rade , Electrolyze , Path to Exile , and less directly Phyrexian Obliterator to control the enemy creatures. Noble Hierarch I preferred over birds because of the exalted. She also covered 3 of my colors which was good enough. My color draws were consistant enough that I don't have to rely on my mana dorks, but they are helpful. I found though that the exalted from noble has been extremely powerful. Especialy when I happen to have 2 of them or 1 noble and 1 qaslai. now my 3 cost mul daya is a 7/7 swinging turn 3-4- and such.

I'll try out those special lands from eventide and shadowmoor. I can't wait xD I anticipate good results.

APPLE01DOJ: well actually, I followed that logic and determined it ain't worth it. Cause I could have Blood Crypt , Godless Shrine , and such for black and something. But those instances where I need to do that are very far and few between. besides, my core color is green, then white, then black, then red, then blue if I drew an Electrolyze . (not in order of quantity, this is the order I search usually.) by turn 3 I almost always have access to 1W, 2G, maybe a double BB and R if I needed to search for it. My RW are bundled with G so I get double green with those and B is with green In case I have multiple black cards in my hand and no red or white I can replace the RW with GB. and so on...

If I am casting obliterator and I need white for soething liek path, honestly that would have been my error from the start for not having white. But the thought has occurred to me to use at lease a Godless Shrine , I am thinking about it always lol.
