This is an early brew of a proactive storm list built around the passive ability Syr Carah, the Bold. This deck is intended to be able to hold it's own at cEDH tables. I'm under no delusion that this anywhere near the best choice of proactive deck in the current meta, but I do think it has some advantages over similar fringe strategies like Bergi or Ydris storm. The idea of the deck is it is running a standard storm plan, hoping to win with Aetherflux Ressevoir, but it also gets to turn garbage commons like Rain of Embers and cEDH staple board clears like Rolling Earthquake into draw 4s while Syr Carah is in play. She also has the nice side effect of making Grapeshot and Ignite Memories generate cards. This has a number of benefits. First of all, we get to run a ton of greedy mana because so much of our deck turns into really efficient card advantage after sticking a Syr Carah. Secondly, we do better against stax than one would expect because we run so many incidental board clears that also help us combo. That being said this deck kind of folds to a deafening silence or other enchantment based stax, so the matchup definitely isn't good, but it definitely has more play than I first thought. Also, it turns out there comes a point where when you burn the table for 1-4 enough times, Ad Nauseam becomes a pretty mediocre card.

This deck can slam a turn 2 Syr Carah reasonably often and threaten to draw into an awful lot of cards the following turn. It can also land an early Blood Moon or Magus of the Moon in order to slow down other proactive decks and knock disruptive decks of their interaction depending on the matchup. For this reason it's best to set your Cavern of Souls to human, and not knight, in order to give you an out for an uncounterable magus.

This deck definitely has some major issues that I'm more than willing to get some feedback on. First of all, a lot of our ping all effects also ping the board, which means we can only use 2 in a turn without killing Syr Carah. This can seriously hold back storm turns. I've added Sword of Fire and Ice and Shield of the Avatar to offset this, but they feel quite clunky. A lot of this could be solved by giving Syr Carah flying, as most of the effects in question don't hit flying creatures, but I haven't found an efficient way to do this. I might end up swapping shield for Cobbled Wings because of the lower activation cost. Blink effects, protection from red effects, indestructible, and adding toughness would all help here, but I haven't found anything more useful on it's own than sword or mana efficient than shield and cobbled wings. If you find anything, please let me know. Also this deck is very light on interaction outside of board clears, especially for enchantments. If I'm missing anything obvious for removing problematic stax peices or warding off counter magic please let me know.
