Thanks for the suggestion, but it's not really needed in my opinion.. While he looks fabulous in boots, the deck should be dropping this guy between turns 4-6. At least locally, nobody has an answer for him that quick. If I have boots or another Eldrazi in hand to play, they'll mostly just scoop.

Helm of Awakening is basically a mana rock. Drawing it early is pretty awesome. I have a deck that does basically the same thing. I use Kozilek, Butcher of Truth instead so I can draw cards off the ramp.

Ooh, that is actually great as a turn 1 or 2! (T1 with Sol Ring or Gemstone Caverns ) Adding that for sure! I'll check your deck out here in a bit, as well. Thanks a bunch for that suggestion!

What about Cavern of Souls to prevent your creatures from being countered?

July 4, 2013 3:48 p.m.

That will go in when they rotate, my only three are in use at the moment. Also, I plan on eventually getting that land that taps for two colorless but pings?

Ancient Tomb . You should also try for the urza lands.

Wait nevermind I didn't see the factory haha.

Ancient Tomb ! Yeah, that would be lovely to get my hands on. Thanks!

why not replace Glimmervoid with Crystal Vein ? replace Reflecting Pool with Ghost Town ? replace Shimmering Grotto with Rath's Edge ? replace Unstable Frontier with Scorched Ruins ? replace Naya Panorama with Springjack Pasture ? Replace Grixis Panorama with Mystifying Maze ? You sure don't need the colored mana. Your lands should do more than just tap for colorless, and you don't need any color fixing period.

Since you presented your suggest like an asshole, I'm going to reply in kind. Because I found the first 40 colorless lands I could. I didn't order them, I scraped them up from what about a dozen other people had laying about. That's why.

That'd be so hilarious to see. Unfortunately, it is going to be difficult to pull off -- even on turn 3 or 4... and what happens when someone shuffles Ulamog? Or they take control of him? Or.... Or... they wrath you -- that would be end of days for this deck -- having to start over and raise 13 mana? another 4-6 turns.

But, the other eldrazi would do a pretty good job of holding the field.

I'd like to state now that this deck is listed as a gimmick. It's actually my fastest EDH deck, beating out Borborygmos Enraged . But it's not going to ever win the game. Lack of color means lack utility. In light of that I opted to just try and make the deck go fast. Also, a really early game Eldrazi paints my head. So if I play him, and he gets answered, oh well. They either take me out quick or lose quick. =]

The point of the deck isn't to always get him turn two so much as it's neat that it's there. And believe it or not, while even up to turn four might not be happening, turn five is consistent and I love it. Playtested several times where I got Planar Cleansing or similar dropped on me and it didn't matter.because the others were hurting just as much after.

And even though I've dumped my hand by the time my field gets rocked, the WHOLE deck wants to do what my opening hand does. Super mana-accel through the roof.

If they shuffle him, the best I got is Eye of Ugin . Swiftfoot Boots , Lightning Greaves and Homeward Path all prevent loss of controll, and Wrath of God does a good job clearing straight path for him has he is indestructible.

I'm sorry if my post appeared in any way disrespectful. Text does a poor job of conveying tone. I like the deck, my friend plays the same commander, and I was merely trying to suggest replacement lands for ones that can only tap for 1 colorless at best.

July 10, 2013 10:01 a.m.

I had a late night, so my reply was just outright rude. Apologies.

To add to that list of lands, I noticed I didn't have any Eldrazi Temple in my collection, but it would be pretty helpful.

If you have the means, I highly suggest adding in a Quicksilver Amulet . (If you don't mind making people rage-quit on turn 4 haha). I played a game with my animar vs. a friend's rith, and it was like Turn 1: Sol Ring ; Turn 2: Quicksilver Amulet ; Turn 3: Pathrazer of Ulamog . Kind of a dick move but funniest win ever.

That was in the original draft, it is sort of a situation card since I only have 7 guys who make it worth while (can't use it for your general) but it might make it back in when I feel like tweaking soonish. Thanks for reminding me that's a good card.

why not add Darksteel Forge ? itd help your board against stuff like Planar Cleansing and Child of Alara

July 15, 2013 2 a.m.

Because the only stuff that counts is Colorless, but not an artifact. And the one guy who REALLY matters is already indestructible. But thanks for the suggestion.

This deck just SCREAMS Metalworker and Lodestone Golem .

Oh and Ancient Tomb and City of Traitors .

July 18, 2013 1:57 p.m.

Metalworker is banned in EDH and Lodestone Golem affects my Eldazi. I find City of Traitors counter productive most of the time and Ancient Tomb is on my "to buy" list, but it's an $8 dollar land.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Fair enough if Metalworker is banned.

If you're playing an EDH Deck where you attempt to HARDCAST Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre , then that one extra mana shouldn't be worth trading for essentially giving you an extra turn and slowing the opponents down by a LOT.

City of Traitors is like Cabal Therapy . It's shitty if you suck at using those cards, but if you don't, then it's going to be almost strictly better.
