I dig the article, Ferret... what would you suggest if someone's broke ass can't afford 4 Thassa, God of the Sea? Namely, mine.

Over Thassa? The closest may be the 4 drop blue creature from m15 that can make a dude unblockable, But Thassa is at 8 right now, so slowly aquiring them may be a good idea before they jump, I suggest just using something Like Pucatrade, and trading away cards you don't need to get her because she is very important in the deck. I think that one can avoid running her if they add a bit more green though, or at least drop 2 of her for 2 Scooze. If you want I can make a budget list for you, just tell me your budget :D

I liked your idea and the article, +1 from me. I build a deck around some of the original ideas you had, but mine isn't standard and is only intended for casual play. Would you mind giving mine a quick look-through and seeing if you have any suggestions? Thanks if you can, if not I understand and thanks anyway for the great article and decklist. Here's my deck: http://tappedout.net/mtg-decks/drawmiltempisfun-casual-simic-combos-and-synergy/Also, I know my deck would probably benefit from shocks, but I can't afford them lol.

Zameck Guildmage is great with Chasm Skulker , and you can make all your creatures come into play with additional counters one turn, then the next turn remove some counters to make the Skulker bigger, or just pay UG to remove a counter from the it, draw a card, and put a new counter on hit, essentially paying 2 to draw a card. I also feel like 4 Thassa, God of the Sea is a bit much, so I would lower that down to 3. Nissa, Worldwaker doesn't seem that great in here either, as the only thing she can reliably do is make lands creatures. Some other cards with potential are Kiora's Follower , Prophet of Kruphix and Bident of Thassa , to make room for some of those (or any cards for that matter) I recommend taking out one Thassa, and moving a couple (or all) of the Scavenging Ooze to the sideboard, and possible taking out Nissa.

I like splashing white here for a Sphinx's Revelation and maybe a couple Banishing Light /Detention Sphere s.

Also, if you go down that route, you can start building towards more of a ramp shell. Heck, you've already got Syncopate , and overloading Cyclonic Rift would be a billion times easier.

One thing I think you should do is cut a Thassa, God of the Sea and get another Kiora, the Crashing Wave .

2nd place at FNM yesterday using this configuration. Won against W/B lifegain, mono-black devotion and control. Lost to aggro.

Needs more early impact... you're low on 2- drops and heavy on three drops, might want to try Elvish Mystic s in the main to turn those 3drops into virtual 2 drops. Get a head-start on your tempo so you don't have to spend so much of your resources catching up to an opponent winning the damage race and racing an opponent who aims to grind you down.
