Sideboard

I played Mardu Dragons. Before the set was fully spoiled, I knew I wanted to build Jund control. On its own, Jund didn't have the removal suite I wanted, but then lightning struck...

BOY this deck has been through a lot of changes.

This deck is made to put the pressure on:

-Get Hangarback out turn 2, Drana out turn 3, and either Thunderbreak or Siege Rhino turn 4.

-Use Draconic Roar and Fiery Impulse to clean up early Jace, Rattleclaw, Mantis Rider, Hangarback, Swiftspear, etc.

-Exile larger threats or keep the cards coming with Abzan Charm.

-Have some flood insurance in Tasigur, Ruinous Path, and Nissa, Vastwood Seer.

-Use cheap removal out of the side to further our aggression

Draconic Roar got better and casting it even without the reveal is still good. 6 overall damage for a 2 mana spell is just ridiculous anyway.

Surge of Righteousness hits: Mantis Rider, Savage Knuckleblade, Siege Rhino, Thunderbreak Regent, Monastery Swiftspear, Anafenza, etc.

Rending Volley hits:Dragonlord Ojutai, Anafenza the Foremost, Mantis Rider, Jace Vryn's Prodigy, Savage Knuckleblade, Soulfire Grand Master, Seeker, Wingmate Roc, etc.

Let me know if you have any thoughts or recommendations. Thanks!

Testing was going smoothly until I came across my first mono-g eldrazi matchup! This pairing was valuable in realizing that:

A) I had been hedging the deck to out-grind other, faster, Midrange decks -And- B) It wasn't fast enough to close the door on ramp strategies

Questions: What could I do to push through damage before my opponent drops his Ulamog or Ugin, and/or how could I disrupt this fundamental strategy without compromising my original intentions for the deck?

I tried replacing Rattleclaw Mystic with Heir of the Wilds; mistake. I wanted to engage in creature combat earlier but still have a reasonable defense against the Savage Knuckleblades of the format.

Then, I realized! K Command was useful in giving me a clean 2 for 1, but it usually didn't happen until later in the game, or unless my opponent was playing control + Jace (rarely). If I replaced it with Dromoka's Command in the main, not only would it give me access to maindeck enchantment removal (From Beyond, Frontier Siege) but I would still be able to interact with (crush) my opponent's creatures- everything from Rattleclaws and Whisperers to Mantis Rider and Siege Rhino.

But then, why stop there? My late game plan was already fairly solid; dropping 2 Thunderbreak Regent usually spells "lights out". As testing proved, though, sometimes you need to close the door faster. Become Immense came in over Den Protector, which got moved to the side. I don't have a bad target for it other than the Rattleclaws and Nissa.

These changes shaped the sideboard into something I'm more comfortable with than the last iteration: spells that are naturally better than spells in the main for varying speeds. Time will tell if the deck has yet to become faster, but, in general, it wouldn't be a change I mind.
