Was just about to suggest Gitaxian Probe over Peek . Telepathy is also funny

Elite Arcanist is amazing cause he triggers Talrand and I can not stress enough just how good Mystic Speculation is in here the more I play my Talrand deck the more I love this card I would go as far as to say it is the best card to play with Talrand. Replace your mana ramp except Sol Ring with Isochron Scepter it will work wonders (it will win you 99% of games in which you play it) (basically the best card ever printed for a control deck) and with more counterspells for instance Mana Leak and or also take out that +1/+1 and +2/+2 nonsense, just play more counterspells and get more drakes and win in the same amount of time while your opponents do even less.

just throw in one stormtide leviathan. that would be funny.

and a recommendation... desertion instead of gather specimens.
