Tamiyo Omniscience

I've always wanted to make an Omniscience deck, but the $30 price tag has made that unrealistic. However, Eldritch Moon gave us Tamiyo, Field Researcher , which works almost the same way. It's just that mana fixing and pumping her up to seven loyalty take the place of getting to 10 mana for Omniscience.

Ramp isn't as important for this deck as consistency, since Tamiyo only costs four. Many of the smaller creatures in the deck draw cards so that you can dig for Tamiyo, or keep cycling for threats once you have her ultimate. Thrummingbird and Skyship Plunderer help Tamiyo rake in the counters to get that ultimate out after only a turn or two in play. With four of each of those, Aether Hub can keep us consistent, and Etched Oracle can grow into a huge threat that draws lots of cards.

Once we get a Tamiyo emblem, Trench Gorger is a barrel of fun. The first one that comes down can safely take every land out of our deck, cutting us down to draw power, fliers, and answers. The latter comes in the form of moderate control. Azorius Charm , Remand , and Supreme Will slow the opponent down, and can also draw us cards. Elixir of Immortality helps us stall, and can also be a good precaution against decking ourself once we have the emblem.

If you like the deck, please upvote to show your support, and more importantly, feedback and suggestions of any kind are appreciated. Of course, it's a budget list, so I won't be adding any dual lands, but let's see how playable this concept can be!

When I first made this deck, Aether Hub was in standard and the price was a little high. Now, it's looking like a great option for a deck that only needs some of its colours for one spell.

Looking at other energy cards to support it, Aether Meltdown, Rogue Refiner, and Shielded Aether Thief look great. They help protect you, and enhance draw as a way of getting at Tamiyo or as a way of winning after the emblem drops.

Adding more to the card draw theme, Etched Oracle looks pretty nice, especially as our ramp becomes less important and Crystalline Crawler gets more expensive. It's also great with the proliferate guys.

Another budget change is the removal of two of our Tamiyos and one of our Trench Gorgers. The Gorgers are because the deck has a harder time supporting three 8-drops now, and Tamiyo is mostly because her price is going up.

I'm trying out two new singletons as well. Remand is a nice counterspell that supports our draw theme, and Elixir of Immortality is a nice backup and stalling piece. The one final change I'm experimenting with is Azorius Charm instead of Simic Charm. The draw and disruption seems to be more of what we're going for here.

All of this pulls the deck a little bit more into blue, which I think means I can pull out Navigator's Compass. I've made some adjustments to the mana base, including adding some dual lands that I own. They're easy enough to replace, and on a tighter budget, you could add the compasses back in.
