Thanks! I just saw new Tamiyo, and was like: so this is how we keep bant alive in standard!

July 1, 2016 2:14 p.m.

I love the deck! But why exactly do you have Eerie Interlude?

Ok yes, the Thraben Inspector gives you 1 clue and the Thalia's Lieutenant gives the team a +1/+1 counters but then it loses its counters and your guys should ALREADY have counters from it.

I guess the only thing really nice is the Reflector Mage. But 2 Eerie Interlude? Is that worth it?

July 2, 2016 3:18 p.m.

But still, +1!

I love this deck and its inclusion of the new tamiyo cause she's awesome. I was thinking of taking out the 2 Eerie Interlude and putting in the new Thalia, Heretic Cathar to add support against jund and aggro decks. +1 from me

PrestigeScorpio and poopiepoopiepants1: You two are right, that's probably how it will shake out. It's mostly there as a pain in the ass for control. It's sideboard worthy, at least. what should I bring in instead?

July 2, 2016 5:43 p.m.

Definitely keep the Eerie Interlude at sideboard. I would bring in 2 Thalia, Heretic Cathar just to make aggro and 3 color decks slower and give you more time to set up. Also, I would take out 1 Thraben Inspector and 1 Tireless Tracker and main board 2 Gryff's Boon just for evasion and to make it easier to kill opponents/walkers. I'm playing mono white humans now and Gryff's Boon has saved my ass so many times.

I like that. Thanks!

Oh, It's so nasty now... Thanks for the suggestion, PrestigeScorpio!

Thanks for the deck idea IZZETannoying! I'm gonna switch up my mono white to this when I play standard cause it seems really good, plus tamiyo is a beast. Can't wait to play this!

Have you considered adding Collected Company? I know that it's very expensive but it does the job. Because of you, I really want to make Bant Humans and I probably won't be able to put in Collected Company, but still, it's an amazing card.

So, heree's the thing, poopiepoopiepants1, I built this list to be rotation-proof. It loses nothing when Kaladesh releases. I debated it, but do I really want to pay $80 for a playset of cards that I'll only use for a few months? Not really. However, if the opportunity and money is dropped in my lap, I will. You forget, I still haven't taken this to fnm because I only have some of it. Adding Collected Company, while it is fantastic, it won't really work within my current budget. Besides, what would I take out for it?

Seems super promising, but a little rough around the edges... I may build one similar to this myself...

  1. Super lacking in the removal department... Heck even a few Prey Upons could work because of your scaling guys.

  2. This list isn't rotation proof first off... Knight of the White Orchid and Yavimaya Coast both cycle out with Kaladesh. Also, refusing to play good cards because they leave in a couple months means you'll lose for a couple months. I always play my cards til they rotate out and do a lot of research in the months before rotation so I don't miss a beat. Rotating them out now means your deck is untested. Sorry, pet peeve of mine, rant over.

  3. Where are your Negates? Or at the very least Invasive Surgery? Not having them means a Game 1 loss because you couldn't stop their Languish, which every Black deck worth anything is running.

Negates are sb, but seeing as my meta doesnt have much black... But yeah, I see your point on CoCo, it's just a budget thing. And yeah, some of my removal isn't in the system yet. Was going to run Unsubstantiate and Blessed Alliance.

Hello,

I quite like the deck you are running and have been designing a post rotation deck like this for myself. Like you obviously seem to have seen the great power of the new Tamiyo, Field Researcher and Always Watching , so have I.
While your approach seems to go towards humans and their synergy, mine goes towards Big-White value. Archangel Avacyn  Flip might be a card you should consider, because you run so many effects, that push your creatures easily towards 4+ toughness and out of reach of Avacyn, the Purifier  Flip.

Further cards you may want to consider are: Lone Rider, Blessed Alliance and the new Gisela, the Broken Blade. While these seem great, they may also need to push out your human theme, so I am a bit undecided to recommend them to you.

My deck for reference:

IMO you have too many 3 ofs. It's built like a CoCo deck but since you don't have CoCo to select which creatures you want, it'll be more consistent if you pick a core curve of playsets.

I suggest dropping Expedition Envoy, since this isn't necessarily aggressive and it's the worst creature in the deck, and go up to 4 each of Duskwatch Recruiter  Flip, Reflector Mage, and Thraben Inspector. Those are your most powerful 1, 2 and 3 drops that you want to see in multiples every game.

Moving the 4th inspector out of the SB means you can test out something like Evolutionary Leap, or add the Invasive Surgerys.

Here is my version, if the link doesn't work just check my profile and you will see it. I do enjoy your version but believe my deck is overall the way to go, I might add 1x Dragonlord Oj or 1x more Avacyn.

Check it out! and Yes the new Tamy is amazing

I don't mean to pop any bubbles here, but this isn't rotation proof. Magic Origins also rotates at the same time Dragons of Tarkir does.

I'm thinking Nephalia Academy, Turn Aside, and Summary Dismissal could be good additions to the deck.

Until the set's release, I am personally running two Ojutai and three CoCos in place of Tamiyo and Thalia. My anticipation is high.

Sorry for the Double Post, but what others are saying is true, you do lose 5 cards on rotation, so finding replacements would be nice. Personally, I would take out the Yavimaya Coasts for Lumbering Falls. Yeah they come in tapped, but provide more late-game options. I would take out the Knights for more removal, even something as simple as Stasis Snare or Immolating Glare. Blessed Alliance or even Working Together would be good as well.

Where's the Collected Company?

DTK + Origin only cycle out in September...

July 8, 2016 2:58 p.m.

Dragons doesn't cycle until september, and Origins cycles with it?

July 11, 2016 11:52 p.m.

Yes, Origins rotates when Dragons of Tarkir rotates.

DTK and Origin only leave standard in September as others have pointed out...

Hi again,

I was just wandering, you might as well have Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip instead of Expedition Envoy since "Allies" in this deck is not there. I don't think you should have 3 Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip but maybe 2 of it and 1 Expedition Envoy OR even 1 Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip and 2 Expedition Envoys, since Kytheon, Hero of Akros  Flip is legendary.
