@ST_Foxtrot Have you considered Living Plane as a wincon for elish/linvala like boom/hulkweaver does?

Nice to see a cEDH deck that uses the combat step.
Are there any vids of the deck being played, or are you aware of it being featured on something like Laboratory Maniacs' channel?

I noticed you're not running the typical mana accelerants save for Mox diamond. Are you favoring creature based ramp to improve birthing pod activations?

@WakeTheDrummer So, I'm a lab maniac actually, and I'll be playing this deck during season two. I know that Sigi has actually played it in one game (but it was an earlier draft, and the game on camera was his first game on the deck...)
@kilgore We drop most artifact mana accelerants because we want to be able to hate them out effectively, and they just don't synergize well with cards like null rod. Things like chrome mox also really suck once you have out trinisphere, tax effects, or rule of law effects.

Maybe im just missing something but wouldnt Thorn of Amethyst be really good here?

@jesse Thorn is fine, I've just found that tax effects are ehh; I choose to play more rule of law effects instead.

Could this list make use of Hokori as another "finisher"? With all the mana dorks, its easy to play through, and gives you just another way to hate on your opponents mana (in addition to moons and null rods) while you beat their face in.

What would Ghave be considered for, he seems like more of a build around commander than a part of the 98 in this deck

What about Sylvan Safekeeper? Helps keep the main wincons safe

@Platt I tried winter orb in the list before and didn't like it. Also, I don't like playing 4+ drops unless they're very impactful.
@fatdroid Ghave seems to make our dude beats plan way better. I'd look at him in the same way Inferno Titan works. Just generates a ton of value, and pumps our dudes who wanna be bigger. If we include skullclamp, he's also looking nice.
@Lorderos Its possible? I don't focus on the combo too much, but it seems okay. If you want to play it in your version I'd say go for it. I just find that I beat down more than rush to combo, and he looks ehh outside the combo.

Can recruiter of the guard be run instead of imperial recruiter?Other budget questionsInstead of original duals can I run check lands? Or is there a better type to replace with? Why the Llanowar waste? Can chrome mox be run instead of the diamond or is that a worse play? Thanks

Is there any reason on not running Gaddock Teeg? He seems like a fairly good early game lock especially since this a more combat focused deck

@GrimReaper0602 Good news is I actually have decided to cut Imperial Recruiter from the list altogether. He was very mana intensive and not terribly useful. Llanowar waste is in the list because we want to play more BG lands, but we already have the shock and ABUR dual. If you have the shocks/fetches I'd suggest running the checklands. They'd work well as long as they can come into play untapped. Otherwise painlands may be the better choice. Chrome mox is absolute garbage in this list, so if you don't have mox diamond I'd just add another low cmc mana dork, or priest of titania.
I'd also suggest looking at Dan's article on making Blood Pod on a budget. I'll add it to the bottom of the primer under the 'Sample Lists' section.
@Sir_Jinx Gaddock Teeg is low impact in the cEDH meta right now. Most cEDH decks don't play many spells with greater than 4 cmc anyways, but if you think he'd work in your specific meta then I'd include him in your version of the deck.

Is fauna shaman not good enough or too slow as a second survival ?
September 5, 2017 3 p.m.
LabManiac_Luke says... #18
Its too slow for the groups I'm in, but if you play in slower groups feel free to add it.

have you tried tinkering with razaketh loops instead of kiki?
September 9, 2017 3:25 a.m.
LabManiac_Luke says... #20
Yes, Razaketh is good in other decks. Not this one; its a slot intensive combo, and won't kill people outright as easily as Kiki will.

I really like this. I've been looking for inspiration as my mono white stax deck has been becoming more time consultant less interactive than I had hoped.

If you dont mind, whats the reasoning for not running gaddock teeg? is it because the majority of decks played against have a relatively low cmc?
September 11, 2017 12:53 p.m.
LabManiac_Luke says... #23
@Monogoodshit Exactly, most cEDH decks don't really have a lot of cards that get stopped by Teeg.

Really want to love this deck and it has a proactive gameplan against a lot of the field. But I'm finding it almost impossible to lock down midrange decks

LabManiac_Luke says... #25
@Fatalis If your friends are playing less stormy or traditional cEDH decks. I'd cut out some of the stax that you find to be ineffective against them. Then I'd add buried alive for an easy way to assemble the combo and a few more fat duders. Grave titan would probably help in midrange or things like creakwood liege.

I have actually been brewing on a TnT stax list myself, the last few days and noticed a few differences in our lists. For reference: Toffee Pudding is what I came up with.
I think most of the differences are that I included more permanent-hate in the form of The Abyss, Smokestack and the like, and Armageddon with Life from the Loam and Crucible of Worlds, which lets me also strip lands for Smokestack. I've tried to stay away from including too many tap effects since my meta has a Derevi, Empyrial Tactician deck that could take advantage of my tapping cards better than we ever could.Including both sacrifice engines and land recursion, though, I feel like my list is lacking a bit of focus.
I thought maybe this build would be a way to deal with a meta that has more creature focussed combos; think Karador, Ghost Chieftain and Animar, Soul of Elements.
I'd love to hear any opinions and ideas. Cheers!
