BEFORE SUBMITTING YOUR DECK, read the specifications and how to qualify for being a chosen contestant.
TapDown Duels is an idea a few of us users on Tappedout came up with to bring the community weekly duels against each other for entertainment and discussion purposes. We can throw two decks up against each other and in the end help each other improve on those Dueled decks, as the amazing Tappedout Community we are. Plus it's super fun!
We will be using cockatrice (see below for details) and I will be recording the Duels and posting them on youtube, on my YouTube Channel. The latest video will then be posted in this description for viewing.
Note:
TapDown Duels switches between the formats of STANDARD and MODERN every week.
Eventually, once big enough, we will feature other formats including EDH, Legacy, and even Pauper.
Stay tuned every week to participate and spectate!
Now, onto the SIXTH DUEL's Details!
TapDown Duel #1 (RESTART) - Format: STANDARD
To Qualify, see below for details on Cockatrice.
The specifications for the chosen decks may change through the course of the duels, but for this duel, the specifications are as follows:
The Deck must be STANDARD Format, no other.
The Deck must have a Sideboard.
(Future Spec. starting soon) You must have been a previous spectator for at least one of the Duels.
(Future Spec. starting soon) You must be an upgraded Tappedout user
Specification (#3) is to ensure your cockatrice program is up and running properly and it shows your dedication / commitment to helping our community with their decks, as they have helped yours.
Specification (#4) is to ensure your dedication to helping this site by contributing to the creator's commitment to an amazing website for all Magic Players.
I will be choosing decks by simple randomization with qualified decks (literally using a program that picks a number at equal randomization)
GAME RULES:
Once decks are chosen, screenshots will be made of both decks, sideboard included, as a timestamp thus preventing the altercation of one's deck in favor against the opponent's.
Each Player will be given the preference of playing a 2 out of 3 round system or a 3 out of 5 round system to determine the victor. They must both agree on the preferred round system or 2 out of 3 will be chosen.
Each Player will be given the option to play 1 Practice Round to get a better feel of the program and warm-up to the game. They must both agree on the practice round or none will be given. Note that the Practice Round will not be recorded.
The Game (not practice round) will be streamed LIVE and uploaded onto Youtube for recap and discussion purposes on the Video link itself and on TappedOut.
The game will include spectators. Chat will be open during the pre game lobby of the Duel. Once the Practice Round and/or Game begins, chat will be kept to a minimum of myself, any other judge(s), and the Dueling Players. Any spectator violating the Chat will be removed from spectation immediately.
During the Game, Players MUST verbalize (chat) during each play (describe triggers, etc) and their opponent must reply with an "okay" or "in response". Failure to continually do so will result in an automatic Round loss for the particular player.
If at any time during a Round a player accidentally reveals his or her library, reveals the top card of the library, or reshuffles the library, that player will lose the Round. Revealing your hand does not lose you the round, it only gives your opponent a distinct advantage, not you.
If at any time during a Round a player's connection is lost with the server, that player will lose the Round if connection is not reestablished before the game automatically concedes unless that player had a distinct advantage in winning that Round, ON that turn. This will be determined by myself and other spectators. If so, once connection is reestablished by both players, we will restart the Round.
If a Player's connection is lost, that player will have 5 minutes to rejoin the lobby. If the player fails to do so, it will result in an automatic Round loss. Failure to rejoin in 10 minutes will result in an automatic Duel loss. The other player however, may choose to reschedule the Duel with his or her opponent, myself, and any other judge(s).
All rules are subject to change, as well as additions being made. This is the current, agreed upon set of rules. Please email us if you have any suggestions! This is a community effort!
