Yes, that makes sense.

I haven't watched all the duels so I can't be really sure about this but if something is not clear (like lands were not yet tapped for casting a spell), the opponent should not react.

I have watched many streams like SCGlive and other tournaments where even the pros cast stuff then tap and untap lands until they're finally happy with how they tapped mana (you can even do that in MTGO). If the opponent windmill slams a response before they're done it's their own fault imho. Obviously it really depends on the situation.

Anyway, I'll watch maybe the standard matches and may even participate in some of the future standard duels if it works time wise (EU timezone).

Well, I don't have an upgraded account, but I do have a deck with a few upvotes on it:

While I agree that not all triggers need to be explained, they do need to be explained at least once in most cases.

For example, my modern deck

Viga-BOOM! (turn 2) Playtest

Modern nbarry223

SCORE: 64 | 4 COMMENTS | 9548 VIEWS

has so many triggers and interactions that turns can literally take over 20 minutes if you have to go through each trigger individually (which is why I'm hesitant to submit it when the modern tourney is up). Some of them are redundant, so I generally show the first interaction, then skip steps later on. I will go back if my opponent is confused at any point and do it properly though. That's how I feel it should be approached in games, to speed them up, first time you do something, show interactions correctly, then you can skip steps once everyone understands (if they are okay with it).

nbarry223 - That's exactly how it should be approached. However, if I express in the rules that "explain once and that's it. Explain again if questioned" then there brings loop-holes to triggers and "Oh I forgot to take a life with Phyrexian Arena or "I forgot to draw an extra" when you have no cards in library. Those are extreme cases and just off the top of my head but you should get what I mean and I am sure there are plenty of those iffy triggers that pose loop-holes. I've seen (but don't remember) them before. I simply want to avoid that.

Yes, I understand. I'm just saying that if both players are okay with it, you can be lenient about having to go through every trigger. Both players should also be on top of mandatory triggers like Phyrexian Arena (and spectators too) because they cannot be skipped, so you have to revert the game state to the skipped trigger if you want to play properly.

I just think games can get needlessly long if someone becomes a stickler about announcing every trigger, how you stack them, etc. I've had 2 hour long games with my control deck without even playing decks involving massive amounts of triggers, and that gets extremely boring, no need to make it take any longer.

Dreno33, sorry it's been a while. I've been busier than I expected to be. I'm trying to find time to work on the description but it's taking longer than I thought :/

Hey no problem ProfessorDucky! I've been quite busy, too! A lot of group projects coming together for the next few weeks before graduation! haha. Take your time, no rush. I appreciate the amazing email you sent to me already. I just haven't found the time to input work into its description either. The theme I want is to look High-Tech and professional. I am personally finding it a challenge to do. I'm not super fancy with that stuff yet!

I'm not much of a standard player. This is really GREAT what you doing though! I was wondering, when you could do a modern tapdown duel? That would be awesome if you did. Thank you for doing this kind of thing though.

They are on a rotating schedule every week i'm pretty sure. Last week was modern and i think next week will be modern aswell. I was thinking you might want to add something about that Dreno33. It seems to me if some people come by and see it says standard or modern they may be put off the next time they see it featured. Maybe a change of the standard modern description of the "deck" during the different weeks too. Need to do something to make people aware that it's more than just standard or more than just modern. Do you plan and ever hosting any legacy games ?....... that even you could compete it xD

This match is HUGE Godzilla-type creatures versus SMALL persistent Humans and their afterlives, I LIKE IT!

As always, following Game Rule #1, screenshots have been taken of both decks to prevent the Altercation of either deck prior to the Duel. Any differences in the Mainboard or Sideboard from the pictures to the Duel deck will result in Disqualification.

ATTN adventfaith and RedSoxFanKy:

  • Please email me at [email protected] with your availability for the next 5 days or so (since Easter is this weekend, we want more options to schedule the Duel)

  • Please practice on Cockatrice with your deck and make sure everything is working properly and you are ready.

  • Please review the rules in the description before the Duel, very important.

  • One of you will need to create the Duel at least 10 minutes before the scheduled Duel time with the EXACT specification in the picture below:

*Note to allow spectators to view everything for me to judge as well as allowing unregistered users join.

ATTN Everyone Else:

  • We hope to see you attend the Duel!

  • Note if you can not find the Duel to join on Cockatrice, try filtering the games to view the unavailable games. This should solve the issue.

That is completely fine with me since those come out very soon.

Yeah, it doesn't make his deck any better by playing with the cards like a week prior to release.

Congrats to the chosen players. If either of you need to practice I will be available later tonight! I was gonna try to get a couple duels in tonight.

Will Athreos display properly on Cockatrice? I don't know whether the JOU cards are available to download yet.

Download from my link at JOU and Cockatrice.

Scorprix says... #22

OK, so I don't have cocatrice, and for some reason I'm having problems with downloading it, so I wanted to ask: Could Someone else try to use my deck for tapped down duels? The deck I would like to be used is: Mill! Mill! Mill! Mill! Mill! Mill! Mill! Mill!, and for the next time there is a modern competition: Legit Mono-Green Burn (Is That Even Possible?).

I still have not received any word from adventfaith, his last activity being 3 days ago (according to profile). RedSoxFanKy was on top of things from the start and I am grateful for his participation and curtesy to my schedule.

I will give adventfaith until Wednesday @ 11:59pm PDT/PST to email me with his/her availability for the Duel since RedSoxFanKy does not have the availability during the week anyhow.

On that note, RedSoxFanKy can you email me your availability this coming weekend (friday-sunday) please? I apologize for the delay and thank you for your cooperation.

Lastly, CurdBrosBrewingCo, please do not Feature this deck until everything starts rolling again. I would feel bad for you to waste your money during this time. Thank you, as usual(:

Hey Dreno33, what will happen if adventfaith doesn't get back to you? Will you choose 2 new contestants, or just 1?
