Introduction

This is my very first EDH-deck that has gone through a lot of changes since the beginning of it's time. The goal is to have a purely causal deck not intended for tournaments. I really love the Mardu colours and the biggest problem Is that Tariel is expensive to cast. Otherwise I really like to have help with adding cards to the mainboard. I have several cards in the sideboard that I own which really should be used in the deck. My budget includes most cards except things like Imperial Seal or Grim Tutor. Otherwise I own everything in the main- and sideboard.

The Primer

Work in progress
  • Tariel, Reckoner of Souls - The Legend who controls the deck. Is costy but practically the only existing Mardu Reanimator general.
  • Angel of Despair - Tasty reanimator target, good since it can blow up any non-indestructible permanent. You rarely hardcast this from your hand since it costs double white and double black. Can also swing for some damage but a 5/5 flyer is pretty vanilla in edh.
  • Anger - Important piece of the deck, you want this in your graveyard as fast as possible. Preferably before t4. For example Sun Titan is much happier if it can attack at once. Also if you play spells like Rally the Ancestors Anger becomes crucial for tempo and damage output.
  • Auramancer - Good recursion effect on a stick. This deck uses strong enchantments like Debtors' Knell,Phyrexian Arena which usually gets destroyed fast once cast. Auramancer saves the day.
  • Avacyn, Angel of Hope - Very handy when your opponents play sweeper-filled decks. Damnation suddenly got really bad for them and really good for you. Not first pick reanimator target unless you know the other decks.
  • Avatar of Woe - Doubt if this card will be staying for long since it's almost impossible to cast it for . The reason why it has stayed for this long is :Destroy!. Very good with greaves.
  • Blood Artist - Cheap, effective and flavorful, great two-drop and part of the only combo in the deck. Doesn't need more explaining.
  • Butcher of the Horde - At the moment still testing this card. Probably not staying. Great flyer though.
  • Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite - One of the best creatures in the deck. Once this hits the battlefield you usually win. Combined with Gisela or Avacyn this mean praetor wins you the game.
  • Fiendslayer Paladin - Crap, won't stay.
  • Karmic Guide - Great recursion on a stick and part on the only combo in the deck. Also gorgeous art.
  • Mother of Runes - One mana protection on a stick? -Hell yeah! This mother has saved me countless times. Don't touch my Elesh!
  • Reveillark - Not as good as Karmic Guide though still playable. Also part of the combo.
  • Rune-Scarred Demon - Great tutor on a stick. High-priority reanimator target early game. Great for getting a board state and the cardsyou need at the same time.
  • Serra Ascendant - With no doubt the best one-drop creature in the deck. For some reasons my friends is never happy when I play this cosy monk on turn one.
  • Sheoldred, Whispering One - Did I mention that I like praetors and Phyrexia? Wincon if it stays long enough (it never does) and great reanimator target any part of the game. If you play 1vs1 this dude is the best one you have.
  • Solemn Simulacrum - Classic commander staple that every deck should play. Often second in line when choosing reanimator target. A must have.
  • Sun Titan Both really good and bad. The 3cmc restriction prevents you from picking wincons but returning that Strip Mine with each attack feels nice.
  • Viscera Seer - Great with Skullclamp,Blood Artist etc. Also part of the one-and-only combo.
  • Wurmcoil Engine - Deathmachine that spawns more deathmachines. Just cast Victimize and smile.
  • Yosei, the Morning Star - Does wonder against combo decks. Going to get infinite mana next turn? -Nope. Next time maybe. In huge multis' Kokusho is probably the better dragon.

Feedback

Feedback is greatly appreciated, try to reflect which cards in this deck could be switched out. My side and main is full of stuff I would love to try. Thanks!
