This is a fairly budget Tasigur EDH deck -- in that I didn't spend much money on it. Unlike some Sultai decks, like those with card:Sidisi, Brood Tryant as their commander, this deck doesn't focus too much on creatures.

It plays a lot of board control, but I feel I could still add more non-creature removal. My local meta has been shifting more to combo recently so I might need to add in some counteres. It's pretty weak to graveyard hate, like most Sultai decks.

The general game plan is to play ramp cards, drop an Urbog and cast Corrupt. Another win-con would be to get Wonder/Filth in the graveyard (Filth + Urborg) and swing in with zombies (card:Army of Darkness, Empty the Pits) or big hydras.

Tasigur manages himself, his Delve sculpts your graveyard to make sure you only get back spells you want and ensures he's always cheap to cast. This is basic Tasigur stuff, naturally.

Life from the Loam is a critical card in the deck as it can get back Urborg if it ends up in your yard as well as helping you make land drops late into the game. This means you're less reliant on mana rocks but are still able to cast all the spells you need in a turn. Tasigur is an optimal funnel for extra mana as you always get back a spell.

Updates Add

After fielding advice from friends and /r/EDH I've made the following change:

Out: Mesmeric Orb Mistcutter Hydra Murder False Demise Elixir of Immortality Corpse Churn

In: Sire of Stagnation Void Winnower Grisly Salvage Hero's Downfall Mind Grind Entomb

Several of the changes were strict upgrades. Grisly Salvage for Corpse Churn, Hero's Downfall for Murder.

Otherwise, I knew I wanted to upgrade my scary creature base. That's where Sire and Void come in. I needed another win-con so Mind Grind came in to help with a stalled board. Entomb does everything I want it to. Pop Filth into the graveyard for unblockable dudes, an Exhume target, or a card with flashback.

Orb came out because it always draws too much aggro, and I'm not able to take advantage of it in the same way a pure Golgari (or a Sidisi) deck could. False Demise is rad, and cute when it gives me an opponent's creature through a board wipe, but large-threat creatures are not big in my playgroup. Elixir and the Cane are redundant, and I've never even needed one of them. The spell power of the deck doesn't come from drawing cards but from a sculpted graveyard. Plus, without Orb, the graveyard shufflers are less good. I still want Cane, as it's good insurance against Relic effects.

Future Changes: Someone suggested I get a Boseiju. Which is a great idea. I have one in my modern Ad Nauseam deck, but I don't want to flip it back and forth right now.

I'd love to get one of the Praetors, because they're super sick.
