I saw burgeoning from your S3E1 video, which is not on this list. Which do you think better of exploration/burgeoning in this deck or you just run them both?

procy - Exploration wins out between the two, it is more consistent in the late game when you are looping LftL. The video was filmed back in December and it was in the middle some of the major changes I have documented in the change log.

Hi, I’m a huge fan of your build and was curious of your opinion on Ashiok, Dream Render’s effectiveness as another control option in the deck.

thatGuyneedsAusername - it is really solid. It is probably an auto include in every UBx midrange and control deck. It will most likely replace Counterbalance or Shadow of Doubt.

Hello Cameron,
As a dedicated Tasigur player and a fan I have a few questions I hope you can answer sometime.
Between Day's Undoing and Windfall which one do you think makes a better Ti metwister replacement? (Timetwister and OG duals lands are likely the only cards I will not be able to afford in the foreseeable future) I am leaning more towards Day's Undoing, but I have heard arguments both against and for it, I would like your opinion on that.
Also, what are your opinions regarding inclusion of Misdirection? Is it good, bad, or more of a metacall? Also with the removal of cabal coffer's a few version back don't you think the utility of crop rotation has decreased and perhaps that it could be replaced with more interaction, such as muddle the mixture?

2l84that - Windfall or some other piece of card draw like a Fact or Fiction would be better. Day's Undoing just hurts in that it ends your turn. If you are able to give it flash in some way, based on existing cards in your deck, then it might have a spot. Misdirection can be a narrower free counterspell, but it also is really hard card disadvantage. It you are in pods with all combo decks, it may be of use, but otherwise, we have better counterspells. For Crop Rotation, the graveyard hate is still relevant. Also it can mana fix you or feed your LftL by getting you a fetch land in play. It hasn't lost its spot yet.

Hey Cameron, how do you feel Thrasios and Silas Renn compares to Tasigur as a sultai control pairing?

How often is freed from the real a dead draw for you? Like the deck a lot and am considering building jt.

Jt5525e10 It isn't great. I'd put Tymna in Silas's place any day if you were running Thrasios for a similar deck.
Doveyy Not often.
steven11788 Thanks!

Good to know, my gold fishing had a bad playtest but i didnt do it many times. Love the deck man.

What is the purpose of the Season's Past loop? I get that with infinite mana you can tutor for your combo, but couldn't you just repeatedly activate Tasigur at that point to achieve the same thing?

Hello LabManiac_Cameron, I’ve been following your deck and I have a question for you. It’s clearly the Ashiok, Dream Render ’s effectiveness but what about the Narset, Parter of Veils ? It will be good too?
Best regards.

I'm putting this deck together for a newly established 3-player cEDH meta.
I'm in love with Palinchron, but I get that Dramatic Scepter is almost strictly superior. However, with Neoform the deck would have 2 ways of turning Tasigur into Palinchron. With Phantasmal Image and Utopia Sprawl already in the deck, it seems like a fairly card effective addition for more redundant infinite mana generation. Thoughts?
I suppose that once we start adding more high cmc creatures to the deck, Tasigurs mill becomes worse and worse, and I don't want to turn the deck back into a reanimator list.
With Neoform and Eldritch Evolution, I'm tempted to add a few "fun-of" 7cmc cards like Diluvian Primordial, to see how they work out in my meta :)

lmsmq- If Tasigur is stolen or cannot activate his ability due to something like Cursed Totem , then Seasons Past can fill that same role.
skaterajfst - Ashiok and Narset are both looking at slotting in. I'm working on the cuts now.
atlimar - Palinchron just assumes that you have 7 mana amongst lands. That has to be VERY far into late game. The big benefit with dramatic scepter is that it can go off quite a bit faster and also utilizes the ramp that we run to go off. Our acceleration then turns into a win con. Letting those early turns of ramping and interaction turn into combo prep all at the same time. Most people are off of the EEvolve lines, if they are in a heavy flash hulk meta. It just is too slow. If your new meta isn't already on flash, then palinchron can probably work out. If it moves straight to flash, you will probably be too slow.

With Neoform could the Eldrich Evolution package be put back in?

Hey LabManiac_Cameron, thanks so much for revisiting and updating this deck so often; Tasigur is my favorite commander to play in EDH, so I really appreciate it! I do have a few questions, if you find the time/inspiration to answer even one of them, I'd be very thankful.
-
I know you're working on fitting in Narset and Ashiok. I'm curious at what point it becomes correct to include cards like Arcane Denial or more wheels (e.g. Windfall) if we're including draw-hate like Narset, or previously Leovold. How many draw-hate cards do we need? Is one enough? Two? Five?
-
If we're including PWs, do we need to find room for more ways to protect them? In non-cEDH metas (more battlecruiser decks and creature aggro), it's probably obvious to slot in things like Damnation, BSZ, and the like. But how many sweeper spells is correct? And would you do this in a (blind) cEDH meta?
-
In the same vein, do you think something like Constant Mists deserves a slot in Tasigur if we're definitely including Ashiok/Narset? and
-
What is your opinion on Narset's Reversal in cEDH?
Again, thank you so much for keeping this resource going. It's actually what got me into EDH in the first place, and I couldn't be more happy about it!

SMASHER101 - it would require removing Ad Nauseam. If that happens, then yes. But currently I don't see that happening right now in my list. If you list is not running Ad Nauseam, then it would be possible.
synze What i'm currently testing....
Bolas's Citadel for either Ad Naus or Seasons Past
Ashiok for either counterbalance or shadow of doubt
Narset for Dark Confidant or Yawgwill or Praetor's Grasp or Chains of Meph
Narset's Reversal for Stubborn Denial
I am also considering if we want to look at flyers to stop some of the chip damage that we experience in long games. From Aven Mind Censors, Swan Song tokens and our own Gilded Drakes coming home to roost. The big considerations in that line are Baleful Strix, Smuggler's Copter and Stinkweed Imp. We can't really move forward with that unless we really start seeing more combat and more time playing with the walkers. Additionally this could just be Yahenni's Expertise.
Narset's Reversal is on par with Counterspell in regards to its usefullness and utility. The card is amazing and is probably one of the best cards for cEDH in a long time.

Thank you so much for maintaining this page and list.
I'm looking at running Neoform/EldEvo in my list, because I like some of the synergies it brings. This probably means I'd remove the Dramatic Scepter package. I know I will loose speed.
The intention is to run a very tight package, with Nezahal and Palinchron as the only two targets for Tasigur.
Dorks can be turned into Incubation Druid/Bloom Tender, or Baleful Strix if needed.
With a few additional creatures and another board wipe, I think running Ashiok + Narset becomes more natural, which should hopefully serve to slow down opponents.
Removing Vampiric + Seal might be dumb, but I feel that Neo/Evo replace their purpose, without the card disadvantage. I'm looking at something along the lines of:
- Dark Confidant
- Dramatic Reversal
- Isochron Scepter
- Freed from the Real
- Thought Vessel
- Imperial Seal
- Ad Nauseam
- Dimir Charm
- Counterbalance
- Vampiric Tutor
- Rift Sweeper
+ Dark Petition
+ Eldritch Evolution
+ Neoform
+ Palinchron
+ Incubation Druid
+ Nezahal
+ Baleful Strix
+ Ashiok
+ Narset
+ Damnation
+ Narset's Reversal
With those changes in place, do you think I've simply made your list worse, and are some of my choices of cards to cut simply uncuttable?

LabManiac_Cameron how's this for a budgetish list for a slightly less compedetive group but not fully casual.

LabManiac_Cameron I very much appreciate you taking the time to provide such a detailed response, especially regarding Narset's Reversal. I hadn't even thought about how Yahenni's works so well with the walkers -- going to try this out myself soon! Cheers mate, again huge thank you for keeping this project going.

Hey Cameron,
Ive been working on a tasigur deck. I'm running a reanimation package. Wanted to know on your thoughts on this flash hulk combo.
flash hulk for -mogis's marauder -bloom tender -1 mana blue creature to allow bloom to tap for 3 --siren stormtamer (protection) --or something like trickster mage (could be a 1 blue mana untap for bloom tender if its given haste or just allows bloom to tap for 3)
if you already have a blue permanent on board you could get any other 1 cmc dork. You would also need freed from the real in hand & you can get infinite mana that turn.

shredz you should make your way over to the Tasigur Discord -- there's a link under external resources. There are plenty of deckbuilders including me who are there to discuss and help players with their personal decklists. I don't mean to detract your question from Cameron, but you're more likely to hear back from him sooner on that server than you are here if I'm being honest.
LabManiac_Cameron I also hope you don't mind me promoting the Discord a bit as well and you trust the community that's been built there to alleviate some of the deck specific advice that comes your way. It's been a great resource for me personally and I'd highly recommend anyone trying to build Tasigur to head on over there and check it out!

Hey Cameron, what do you think of the card Legacy's Allure for tasigur? It can steal thrasios and zur after just one turn and tymna after two in play
procy says... #1
I have enjoyed all the contents above and all videos on youtube of your guys, I like them so much, as well as this control tasigur deck. The question is about the card crop rotation there, is it only for bog/strip mine, or it can be made use of other situations, I think it is narrow for only a one or two land tutor.
