This entire deck idea was inspired by War of the Spark. Specifically, the new walkers seen in this list and Narset’s Reversal. I wanted to build a deck that utilized those cards effectively, which evolved over time into the list presented here. The idea became protecting the walkers and using cards that were asymmetrical in effect. Which created the theme and shaped the decisions when making this deck. I love having a toolbox in the command zone. I recognize that Thrasios is way to powerful for what I want to do in a casual 75% meta. But Tasigur has good value, but also a random/political aspect to his design that ultimately makes him the best commander for what I want to do.

This whole theme of this deck is playing cards that only effect your opponents. It's sort of staxy, but doesn't break the rules of destroying mana bases or preventing players from playing Magic, as I don't care for that kind of Stax.

Basic plan is control the board, mess with your opponents with interaction and board effects, then win the game with either Oblivion Sower + Field of the Dead, use Jace or Nissa’s Ultimates or just out value your opponents. There are plenty of ways to win in this build, those are just a few. Anyone that has seen my other builds knows. I love value.

Seriously though, Sultai is an insane color wedge... So difficult to make anything in this wedge fair.

So, many people will probably look at this list and ask this question. The answer is simple, it was in here, but the more I tested the deck, the more I realized it was the weakest card in the build.

I never liked when I drew it, outside of having Coffers/Urborg out, and even then, this deck has plenty it wants to do. It’s loaded with great cards I love to play, I don’t need to abuse my opponents anymore.

Secondly, and possibly most importantly, Narset’s Reversal is a thing. This card will catch on more and more as time goes on, and will eventually be a staple in everything Blue (rightfully so). As that occurs, big dumb X spells (fun as they are) will become even more pointless to run. Nothing like spending 28 mana, only to have an opponent get a copy for 2 mana and cancel yours...
