For a "courtroom" style deck, you have remarkably few "jury" cards- in other words, cards with the Will of the Council ability from Conspiracy, e.g. Split Decision.

canterlotguardian, I'm working on getting more of them. I've been pouring my resources into my desk Maralen's Pact and kind of ignored this deck.

Eater of the Dead is great with Phenax, God of Deception, if you want mill as your win condition. Most of the time it's infinite. :)

I don't think Tome Scour or Elixir of Immortality are worth it. You don't really need to be afraid of getting yourself milled. If someone else is playing mill (now that would be great, wouldn't it? :D) you should consider creatures that shuffle themselves and the graveyard to the library when they go to the graveyard. Tome Scour would be nice if it replaced itself, but unfortunately it's just card disadvantage, so I would be looking to play another card that does things or a decent cantrip, like Ponder.

I like that you're playing a lot of land. Maybe look for some utility lands (google some, there are a lot of cheap ones) and Life from the Loam.

Also I would look for some more creatures that have ETB (Enters the Battlefield) effects to abuse with Deadeye Navigator and see if they could maybe have some keywords too, to make Soulflayer much better, since right now it doesn't seem to do too much.

Thanks for the suggestions, Teemursu! I really like being able to make land drops without thinking about it and it only makes Tasigur better for me when there aren't many options. (Enter all the delve).

I agree that Elixir isn't really worth it, aside from life gain. Tome Scour is actually beautiful here, just last night it allowed me to cast Tasigur T2.

I hadn't seen Eater of the Dead before, I think I'll get one. I actually dislike Dredge for this build, it doesn't feel right. I'm still not sold on Tombstalker/Soulflayer. And I dislike DeadNav shenanigans aside from Riftsweeper, although I am considering Great Whale to combo out with Helix Pinnacle.

Thanks again!

I feel like since you gave feedback on my Tasibro EDH, it's only fair I do the same.

So to start, since you're playing mill I'd recommend the following for consideration: Jace, Memory Adept, Mirko Vosk, Mind Drinker, Hedron Crab, Glimpse the Unthinkable, and Mind Funeral.

There's also a counter spell, I forget the name though. It's a common from Gatecrash, costs 1UB, instant, counter target spell, they mill 2.

I hope some of these are helpful! Have a good day.

P.S. +1 because mill is fun.

L0stinExile, I do enjoy Mill, but this deck only mills as a last resort. The small spells are to Mill myself and rush out Tasigur.

L0stinExile you're thinking about Psychic Strike.

Now that I took another look, Eternal Witness and/or Den Protector seem like they could fit in pretty well.

I'm waiting for Den Protector to get off his high horse before I get one

I really like your deck. Deadbridge Chant might work, but it milling 10 when it enters might not work.

June 10, 2015 11:18 p.m.

Scorpy, thanks for dropping by. I had Chant in the original version. I recently took it out when I realized I never cast it and never thought twice discarding it to Forbid or Demonic Collusion.

I'm testing an alternate version of this deck that's enchantment based, so it got yanked.

You have Misthollow Griffin so why not add Food Chain for infinite mana? and Exploration + Crucible of Worlds + Burgeoning.

I see Crucible of Worlds has already been recommended, and it really is a must with that many lands, though Manabond is an incredible card, I'll have to remember that card for my own purposes. Sensei's Divining Top would give you the foresight to know when to activate his ability. With so many delve cards, this deck looks really risky to play, you could risk removing really powerful cards that may prove useful later. it's a good thing Tasigur mills slower than Sidisi, Brood Tyrant. Psychic Spiral is hilarious in 1v1 and Training Grounds would be useful to activate Tasigur's ability more frequently, but it seems you have plenty of ways to ramp anyway.

August 12, 2015 1:06 p.m.

Quicksilver, thanks for the suggestions. SDT is a bit out of my budget at the moment and I don't care much for it to begin with, but I may have to try it. Tasigur doesn't need to come out a lot as the deck tends to be a bit linear given the amount of lands. I've actually tested Psychic Spiral and it's terrible in practice.

I'm considering testing a Creeping Renaissance to bring lands back for Manabond. The key to using Manabond is to remember that you don't need any land in your hand to use it.

Hermit Druid is really good for milling yourself, as well as fixing your mana. Genesis can help you get back relevant creatures that you still need.

September 18, 2015 3:39 p.m.

ragincajun129, thanks for dropping by! Genesis is actually one of the cards I do intend to get for this deck eventually. I haven't yet because I was doing a lot of experimenting with the deck. The reason I don't run Hermit Druid is it's banned in French, which is very popular in my area. Which is also why I don't run Sol Ring. Out of a desire to play more games, not running cards that are 'broken' is a necessary pain.

ragincajun129 says... #21

Oh, ok. I gotcha. Do your thing then. For me, part of the appeal of EDH is getting to play with and against Vintage cards. It would be hard for me to argue that Hermit Druid isn't broken, or at least close to it, but the single card restriction does keep things in check to some degree. I mean, Hermit Druid isn't an auto-include in every deck running green the same way that Ancestral Recall is for blue decks. You do have to build around him in order for him to do work.

Congrats on a cool build, dude!

why 60 lands

September 21, 2015 10:37 a.m.

cirion, it helps with Tasigur's recursion ability by narrowing down choices. That and there are plenty of uses for the lands, especially once I get Exploration and Oracle of Mul Daya in here.

do you mill yourself or your opponents

September 21, 2015 2:37 p.m.

cirion says... #25

if you play a lot of lands you should probably run Ob Nixilis, the Fallen Roil Elemental and Rampaging Baloths
