Hello all and welcome to the court of Tasigur, the Exalted One. Breaker of Combos, Father of Seasons, Master of the Dead, and Hater of Hulk.

Do you hate your flash hulk meta? Want to watch the life drain from a few peoples faces when you have the answers to the end times? Well Tasigur control is the deck for you. With a metric-boatload of potential answers and ways to have everyone playing "fair magic," this will help to add some blue-flavoured variety to your local meta. As we arent using partner commanders, we have a little less to work with and were missing a beautiful colour in white, but thats alright. We dont need it.
Ah yes, our shirtless shaman boy. If you're in shock and awe staring at this shirtless, slightly-Eastern looking man I dont blame you. Tasigur is a useful commander, as well as a consistently available part of any 2 card win condition. 4/5 for B5 with that ever lovely Delve, he can be a very quick butt as early as turn 2. Cards like Life form the Loam, Careful Study, Windfall, and Ashiok, Dream Render help to enable us to get out part of most of our win conditions as early as turn 2, if were able to get sufficient mana rocks. With him, as soon as youre able to make infinite mana, you win. Thats just it. You win. So seeeing him hit the field is something our opponenets become slightly wary of. With the Delve, commander tax is much less of a problem, allowing us to continually cast him for his lovely B cost.
When it comes to actually playing the game, this deck has a main goal and several sub goals. Main goal is and always will be infinite mana as that is an immediate win with Tasigur in play. Our subgoals to get us there are reanimating Razaketh, control the board using our War of the spark Planeswalkers, counterspell package and targeted removal thus allowing us to stall until our combos have been assembled.
Bolas' Citadel is one of my favourite new cards to come out in MTG. The ad nauseum on an artifact, while expensive, is so much fun to resolve and downright game ending if it hits the board and sticks around. This card is the card that almost always will attempt to get countered but this is why we have cards like Autumns' veil and Veil of Summer. "But 7 mana and 3BBB to cast! You're insane!" You're damn right im insane but this is why we play ramp, a turn 4 Dark Ritual into Citadel is one of the slower ways of doing it (I would much rather be running a Transmute Artifact but i'm not made of money.) but it still gets the job done. Along with our load of dorks, rocks, and artifacts we can assemble this card rather quickly and begin to dig and dig and dig for our combo pieces.
Pretty self explanatory when it comes to the deck list, but we have a few different ways of comboing off and winning. While they aren't as efficient as Hulking out into a crazy 4 card death board, we have a lot of fun getting there. Eldritch Evolution + Tasigur, the Golden Fang = Razaketh, the Foulblooded + Life/Death allows us to get out our combo pieces and 0 mana artifacts IOT begin to generate infinite mana, thus recasting Tasigur and Winning. Bolas' Citadel + Aetherflux Reservoir is an instant win, and is usually assembled when the citadel hits the board. Having a Sensei's Diving Top to filter through the lands we may hit or having out a Necropotence allows us to dig harder and not put ourselves into death-range. Standard Isochron Sceptre + Dramatic Reversal + Mana Vault/mana dorks/other artifact ramp for the infinite Tasigur mana, allowing us to Beast Within + Reality Shift everyone to death. Seasons Past + Infinite Mana + 2 Tutors in Graveyard = death by combos. As an alternate, Memories' Journey + Regrowth will have the same type of recursion effect.
Our control package is composed of counterspells and spot removal, along with Narset, Parter of Veils and Notion Thief as cheeky ways of allowing us to be the only ones gaining card advantage. Our most notable cards other than our counterspells are Autumn's Veil and Veil of Summer , both allowing u to combo off without much interaction if they are allowed to resolve. Abrupt Decay for your standard Golgari removal spell along with Beast Within . Manglehorn is a personal inclusion of mine as I find the ability of countering 0 mana Artifact ramp on a body to be pretty damn good. Caustic Caterpillar and Natural State are both great cards to be holding on turn 1 to put your opponents off of their turn 1 Mana Crypt or Mana Vault , and in extreme cases, Mystic Remora . Lastly, Sultai Charm is an great toolbox card that if recurred can provide more than its mana cost may show, as the instant speed removal can shut down combo pieces.
The list i've been developing is definitely not complete. Their are a lot of cards i want to pick up and play around with and others i believe this deck need IOT play at its peak performance. Any additions other than obvious ones and ones i have included in the acquire section would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for checking out the deck and comment with any improvements or edits you've personally made.
