Deal me some cards

sergiodelrio's back on track to smack my opponent's deck!

I've been struggling to brew a working mono bounce/mana denial deck, traditionally in Modern, always facing consistency issues or the deck ended up being too slow. Well, here's my (hopefully) functional and consistent Pauper version of a true blue bounce strategy... that can call all their bluffs.

TAXES

Raise their bets until they can't pay the blind...

  • 4x Rhystic Study: Give you that extra steam and make casting spells a nightmare for your opponent... easy to get four Aces when you keep drawing cards

  • 4x Rishadan Cutpurse: The mana denial/Bounce strategy makes this one a powerhouse... and turns opponent's pocket rockets into Ace high

HOLD 'EM

All-in on a complete bounce package...

  • 4x Boomerang: OK Boomer - Best bounce spell in the game
  • 4x Eye of Nowhere: Now here, now not - Second best bounce spell in the game
  • 4x Hoodwink: Don't blink while your board shrink - You get the idea
  • 4x AEther Tradewinds: AEther way a good trade - Bouncing our own stuff is a good idea here
  • 4x Mistblade Shinobi: Is it Mistblade or misplayed? - Casually send their creatures back as well

That's 20, yes TWENTY bounce effects, Ladies and Gentlemen!

TURN

  • Target their lands with bounce and optimally keep deploying your own landbase

  • There are great recursion options in Mistblade Shinobi, Ninja of the Deep Hours and AEther Tradewinds to bounce your ETB effect creatures, or worst case Lonely Sandbars to cycle them late game or another tapped land if you can't play one that turn - that way you can just replay an untapped land

RIVER

  • Close the game with crappy beatdowns while your opponent is stuck at one land
