Maybeboard

Welcome to Zendikar. This plane is inhabited by lots of different creatures and critters, but the strongest around is the banding (ha, banding strong) of the best - the Allies.

Allies consist of, clearly, only the most elite of the pack. The Allies are master race (yes, I know Allies aren't a race). We are master race.

Blabber aside, this deck is a quite straight forward Allies EDH. You'll find every (in my most humble opinion) worthwhile Ally, and a dozen support cards to back it up. The landbase is what I could muster on a budget. On to the note-worthy cards and self-explanatory strategies.

Dead-eye Navigator lets you abuse General Tazri's ETB effect like crazy, and once you find yourself a Chasm Guide and Harabaz Druid , you'll have yourself an infinite combo which'll let you fetch out every single ally in your deck and play them out. Of course there's no need to find them all, just Halimar Excavator or Hagra Diabolist first, then a few allies to finish the job. On the other hand, Conspiracy + Turntimber Ranger give you an infinite amount of wolf-allies and +1/+1 counters on the Ranger.Even outside the combos, the deck runs like a smoothly built engine (on a budget). More often it finishes the game through the explosive growth Allies are known for. Taking the Allies on is not a good idea, I swear by mi mum they will wreck you.
Generally (ha), I think about Tazri's fetching ability as a one-time use. It finds a suitable tool to fit my hand.
  1. The game starts, and you're observing your starting hand. Here, really all that matters is that you have the way to get a sufficient amount of mana to get started.

  2. Second up, you think about what might be a proper plan of action for this game. You see a Halimar Excavator in your hand and choose to go that way? Use General Tazri to find yourself a Jwari Shapeshifter or Sea Gate Loremaster to power up your milling or to fuel it up. You instead have a plethora of low-costed, growing allies? Either start up your draw engine or have the Kazuul Warlord join the fray, he'll accelerate growth like no other.

  3. Continue your life on your newly chosen quite linear plan of action (e.g. if you choose to start milling, don't stop till you're done or you wasted your time)

You get the idea by now, whatever problem you might have; Tazri has the solution.

If you have just about no idea what you want, generally (ha) it's a smart idea to grab the Seagate Loremaster to give you some guidance.

What this deck needs is strength, mana, and fuel. Playing the deck is like working a fine tuned engine. The mana and cards in your hand act as the fuel for the engine, and the car is your plan to victory. You need the fuel to get anything up and running, but if the engine isn't strong enough the car won't move. So choose your car to fit your current fuel-economy situation. This works for all decks, I'm aware. But in my opinion it works especially for Allies, as you really need to overextend to do what you must. And for this, awkward bumps of inactivity are detrimental beyond belief.

Allies work well together, which is why we're very vulnerable to mass removal. Hence the few mass-recursion spells, as even without entering combat after Patriarch's Bidding, you might win solely by the ETB effects.

The reason I don't go into detail on each card, is that they're honestly self-explanatory. It's Tribal goodness .dec

Thank you for reading the description / checking out the decklist and I hope you have a truly wonderful day / night / whatever it might be for you.

I would love suggestions, +1 if you like the deck.

Updates Add

Wrote up the description and cleaned the comments, significant changes have been made to the deck and hence it will be updated. Suggestions haven't been forgotten, simply won't be adding them unless I get to try them out myself first.

Also; changed my name!
