Tried this deck out at FNM tonight. Did the Tibalt deck win? Lets find out.
Game 1: Vs. Boros Aggro (2-0)
Round 1: Won the roll, went first. Turn one Rakdos Cackler and turn two Rakdos Shred-Freak left him hurting early, and a turn 3 Boros Reckoner was able to halt his attacks. Turn four Hellrider brought him down to 1, and he scooped.
Round 2: This one was kind of sad, he only got 2 lands the whole game. Turn 1 Reckless Waif
Flip was flipped, swinging for 5 with Ash Zealot on turn 2. Burn Spells and these 2 sealed the deal.
Game 2: Vs The Aristocrats (1-2)
Round 1: Doomed Travelers, Lingering Souls, and Cartel Aristocrats were able to stall out my aggro enough until he was able to start swinging with his Falkenrath Aristocrat.
Round 2: Turn one Reckless Waif
Flip flipped, and swung for 5 with Rakdos Shred-Freak. Burn spells were able to keep his Cartel Aristocrats at bay until he got off a Lingering Souls, at which it was too late.
Round 3: Mana flooded. Too bad I guess. Wish we could've pulled this one off.
Game 3: Vs. Jund Midrange (0-2)
Round 1: This was a complete Joke. Only creatures I drew were Boros Reckoner (who wasDreadbored on turn 3) and Rakdos Cackler. I did have 2 Tibalt, the Fiend-Bloodeds that game, though, and me and this guy laughed constantly thoughout the game. The least salty I ever was in a loss.
Round 2: This one was better. Searing Spears took care of the Olivia Voldaren and Huntmaster of the Fells
Flip, but he bonefire of the damned boardwhiped me. Couldn't keep up with the beatdowns brought by Kessig Wolf Run.
Game 4: Vs Golgari Deathtouch (2-0)
Round 1: This was a very weird game. Neither of us drew very many creatures, but my Ash Zealots took care of his deathtouch spiders. After they were Murdered, I burned him to death. Very weird game.
Round 2: Heavy Aggro + Lack of Blockers = a fast victory.
Game 5: Vs Simic Aggro (0-2)
Round 1: Used a Rancor on his Delver of Secrets
Flip, which flipped and proceeded to give me a colonoscopy from which I could not recover. Didn't draw a single burn spell.
Round 2: Mana flood. Enough said. Drew 3 nonland cards the whole game. Looks like I need to cut my mana base a little bit.
Overall: 2-3. I got some good experience with this deck that I will need for Game Day tomorrow, so hopefully I can improve it enough by then to pull ahead just a bit more. Still hopeful!
