we are full of stompy. found out who was stealing our nivix cyclopes. game 1 was the best start I've seen of any deck in this tournament -- they just ran over us.

Round six was a scary match-up, but we came out on top. We fell hard to an army of Nivix Cyclops es(Cyclopes) ciphered with hidden strings in game one.

Game two had an equally scary start with Darkness swinging for 10 damage from 2 Fluxcharger s. Basically they got all the cards we wanted... Far and away set the stage for us to win with our Maze Rusher and Maze Glider . We even managed to shove out our Cyclops in their face.

We won game three easily due to a mana flood on their side. A well timed Warped Physique along with Fluxcharger and Carnage Gladiator sealed the deal, with AEtherling waiting in reserve just in case.

Big win for Team "All Stones, No Clue" to bring us to 5-1.

Ok, so we're guaranteed 2nd. If we win the last round, we win. If we lose, we can still win if Gurei loses (he has that tiebreaker, so if he wins and we lose, he'll get the win). So I'm liking our chances.

Since victory is ours, wanna splash white? See what could have been?

I say we play three different color combos each game. We do our regular colors and try to win round one, then go Patriot for a match, then Esper for the hell of it.

The last game is no pressure. So, it's a great opportunity to try something different.

I say splash white and give us some feedback. This whole awesome experiment is for learning so we might as well tinker some more in the lab while we can.

What does everybody else think? And what should we swap in and out?

Let's see. Playable White cards: Azorius Cluestone , Jelenn Sphinx , Deputy of Acquittals , Render Silent , Steeple Roc , Sin Collector . Not saying we should play all of those, but that's what we have.

As far as what we should take out, Rakdos Drake has been underwhelming, as has Runner's Bane

Sorry for the repeated comments, but should we alter our deck? Other team's standings rely on the outcome of our match.

I guess we could stay tight and go for 6-1

I vote for stick with what's working.

September 13, 2013 5:40 p.m.

They are still within a game of tying.

Nope, bunny. We won. Gurei lost last night, so the best record any of our opponents can have is 4-3. we've gone 5-1 already, so we win. I just mean that if we win, other teams may do better or worse overall in the standings. I think we have to stay with our current build for the sake of being fair to the other teams.

oh, that was lovely. we won the last match of the tournament in game 3 by going Possibility Storm -> Pilfered Plans , knowing that Blast of Genius was the only sorcery left in the deck. that was my favorite moment of this tournament.

Very nice!

Rock on guys. We totally kicked butt here. Many thanks to landot for volunteering to pilot the deck and to piloting it very well. Having great cards is one thing. Having a player know how to use them is another. Great job!

Thanks to all of you for helping out and putting up with this -- I know this was a longer-term commitment than we perhaps expected. I would love to do this again as a member rather than a pilot, so if the site ever runs this again, i urge you all to volunteer!

HEY GUYS! EXIT INTERVIEW!! Caley asks the following:

1- Who had the best deck?

2 - What enemy play was most surprising?

  1. We did (duh). But seriously, results don't lie. I remember Gurei totally roflstomped us, and Darkness nearly did the same, but again, 6-1!

  2. Darkness having 3 Nivix Cyclopes and 2 Fluxchargers. How did we not get them?

SO! As winners, we get the option of staying together as a team for the next draft -- team triple theros!

I would love to have our team stay together, but I think someone else needs to step up and be the honcho / pilot -- I underestimated the amount of time I would need to invest, and with my current schedule, I don't have the time to be as responsive as I should; I know my scheduling / time issues were a frustration to some, for which I apologize. Plus, getting to play this sort of magic is super fun, and I would like to share the piloting wealth. Any takers?

Unforgivn_II says... #22

I would, but I don't have the hardware (reliable computer, camera, etc) to pull it off...

Although staying together would be cool.

Unforgivn_II says... #23

Oh wait. A camera isn't necessary. But still, the computer thing is a big issue, as of now it consistently overheats. So that won't work.

apt142 says... #24

Staying together is cool. We had a good team.

As for piloting, It sounds like fun, but I run linux and that doesn't support MTGO. Also, I just wouldn't have the time to dedicate to it.

September 27, 2013 7:39 a.m.

I'd like for us to remain a team, but I know I don't have the time to pilot the deck.
